Accounting Coordinator - Long Term Contract

The purpose of this position is to provide project, day-to-day, and administrative support to all areas of the Accounting team.

Function Overview

For a Dyson machine to be successful, it requires rigorous commercial consideration. From the first prototype, to beyond its unboxing. Our strong financial planning and operations are what take Dyson ideas beyond the labs of RDD, onto shelves, and into the homes of our owners across the world. Forecasting, allocating and auditing our resources without ever compromising the integrity and entrepreneurial spirit that defines our business. And with a 25-year pipeline of future Dyson machines on the horizon, all our Finance teams are set to play a crucial role in delivering every single one.


Support the Accounts payable team

  • Enter invoices in SAP as needed
  • Scan invoices and attach to appropriate document in SAP
  • Organize weekly payment runs and deliver for approvals
  • File invoices once payment runs have been approved
  • Maintain Petty Cash
  • Serve as backup for Accounting Specialist

Support Month End Close Process

  • Prepare month end journals for all entries submitted by the FP&A team
  • Prepare monthly pre-paid amortizations
  • Prepare re-streaming entries for certain vendor invoices
  • Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliation for pre-paid accounts
  • Perform all concur credit card journal entries and accruals
  • Prepare reconciliations and follow up on any outstanding items for GR/IR accounts for the Dyson Professional Business Unit

Perform T&E Duties

  • Import new users into  the concur system on a weekly basis and assign corporate cards to their respective concur accounts as needed
  • Perform expense report audits to ensure policy is being followed and coding accurate
  • Enforce expense policy to ensure expense reports are being submitted on a timely basis
  • Serve as point person for all concur troubleshooting questions

Fixed Assets

  • Responsible for ensuring all computers are capitalized in accordance with Dyson’s Fixed Asset Policy
  • Assist in annual fixed asset audit
  • Serve as backup to the Accountant for other Fixed Asset related items
Fulfil other duties as necessary
  • Relish the opportunity to pick up new activities and projects that fall broadly in the purpose of the role
  • Create and implement operational improvements and develop documentation to support these improvements
  • Think outside of the box, identifying opportunities for improvement
  • Identify problems and find solutions


  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field required
  • 0-2 years’ experience in a corporate accounting environment
  • Experience with SAP preferred
  • Internship experience in an Accounting environment preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Adaptable/flexible – able to multi task
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy

  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
