Description and Requirements

The Associate Manager will be responsible for managing the production, budgets, timelines, quality, vendor relations and/or agencies for mass retail fixtures ranging from temporary to premium permanent solutions.

Accountabilities:


  • Support planning against new product launches, ensuring launch readiness and escalating issues and enable resolution before problems become significant (costly).
  • Ensure project timelines are met, along with implementation objectives.
  • Pro-actively drive critical project milestones, stakeholder reviews, activity delivery and completion.
  • Make sure that appropriate consolidation of activity is driven to ensure efficiency of resource application.
  • Develop and own expertise of Dyson’s retail partners, their processes and timelines. Build relationships with retailer counterparts.
  • Occasional store visits to research store environments, store fixtures, competitors and stay in-tune with current Dyson estate.
  • Hold vendors accountable to consistently deliver against Dyson’s quality expectations.
  • Traffic and secure all concept, 2D and 3D approvals internally with Marketing and Legal team stakeholders.
  • Manage inventory of third party retail POS in central and/or supplier warehouses.
  • Work closely with in-house Designers, Category Managers, Retail Marketing Managers, Sales-Out partners and UK HQ colleagues
  • Work with 3PL Implementation Project Manager to understand the support and timing needed to execute the project.
  • Manage all communication and the relationship with outside suppliers.
  • Participate in and/or lead sell-in presentations with retailers.
  • Relish the opportunity to pick up new activities that fall broadly in the purpose of the role.
  • Fix things that need fixing.
  • Identify problems and find solutions.

Skills:

  • Demonstrate and exercise knowledge of design and project management processes.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, to both peers and senior stakeholders.
  • Exceptional follow up and timely execution of projects.
  • Solid brief writing skills
  • Ability to prioritize in the face of many immediate demands and work under pressure.
  • Understanding of graphic design.
  • Familiarity and/or basic comfort level reviewing technical drawing packs (developed by Retail Designers and/or Dyson’s suppliers). – understand the differences between different types—terminology and being comfortable in looking it. Uses the creative suite. Really not in it—majority is Word, Excel, PP and Outlook
  • Working knowledge of prototype and production processes (corrugate, metal and/or mill-work fabrication).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Advertising, Design, Marketing, related field or equivalent work experience required.
  • Minimum 3 years related work experience 
  • Experience working in an Interior Design environment a plus, but not required
  • A proven track record of project and/or production management experience
  • Past experience working with big box, department and/or beauty retailers a plus
  • Advanced knowledge in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Travel 15-20%
