Description and Requirements

We are looking to recruit a marketer with 4-6 years of experience who can handle a brand end-to-end within the Dyson Personal Care category. Having experience in the beauty industry would be a plus. The role reports to the Category Manager who is responsible for the Personal Care (PC) business.

Korea is one of the most important and fastest markets for Dyson worldwide. Dyson operates with a distributor partner in the market and in order to support the continued growth, is creating its own subsidiary locally.

Function Overview:

Dyson category team is responsible for a category business from its top-bottom line. The role is beyond branding, product marketing, or marketing communication but is expected to develop strategy with deep understanding of market, competitions, retail, and customers. Then, lead execution working with wide range of stakeholders not only in marketing team but also with logistics, sales, finance, etc. The team needs to work as a true business leader for the business.

Accountabilities:

This person will work together with the Personal Care Category Manager and with the Group (Global category team) in the following areas:
 
Lead entire organization in product launches, campaigns, or other marketing activities (Project management)

  • Develop project plan and bring everyone on board to implement executions in very high quality, working with all key stakeholders both internal (including global team) and external.
  • Track its progress. When any contingency is spotted, take all necessary actions to bring things back on track.

Market strategy development (Marketing Strategy)

  • Responsible to deliver given P&L, sales and share target, and bring all marketing action to life.
  • Understand technology, market, consumer, retail, competitors, and our business in depth.
  • Develop marketing strategy against business goal and propose it to company managements.
  • Lead product range planning – product lineup, pricing, positioning, customer targeting, sales channels etc.
  • Lead execution (e.g. marketing communications, product launch management) of strategy agreed. 

Communication/campaign planning and its executions (Brand building / Marketing communication)

  • Develop communication plan, brief to other marketing function teams and agencies, and deliver.
  • This needs to be done working very closely and productively with the other teams inside and outside dyson.
  • Review effectiveness and efficiency of media spending and improve continuously.
  • Gather and analyze data/information needed for planning and evaluations, working with research team or so.

Focal point of product information (Product marketing)

  • Ensure products and its operation manuals etc. is aligned with market regulations.
  • Gather and deliver the latest and accurate product info to stakeholders on time.
  • Lead product training to all stakeholders both inside and outside marketing.
  • Fully understand relevant technology and product, and give product training to stakeholders.
  • Ensure all product information and its communications going outside are accurate and consistent.
  • Be main contact to outside testing house, certification bodies, and governmental or regulatory authorities

Marketing administrative works

  • Data source management (of market, product, competition, adverts, sales etc.)
  • Regular contacts to outside suppliers (of creative, media, legal, product, research etc.)
  • Spending budget tracking/management through SAP operation
  • Product purchase and testing set ups.

Skills:

Experience:

  • University graduate or above. Higher education is preferred but not requirement
  • Four to six years of working experiences minimum in marketing, business planning, or relevant.
  • Project management experience of bringing strategy to life is a must. A multi-functional project leader experience preferred.
  • Experience in multimedia strategy, plan, and executions in ATL/BTL is a must
  • In position to develop business or marketing strategy in B to C business is also preferred.
  • Those experiences in strong aspirational brand and/or technology driven brand are plus.

  • Self-management; Proven ability to prioritize while multi-tasking a number of high-priority assignments.
  • Problem solving; be able to critically and actively analyze situations, spot issues, and present viable solutions
  • Korean (Native) + English (Business). Need to negotiate, push & pull, agree & disagree both in Korean and English.
