Business Analyst, Graduate Program




As a Graduate Business Analyst you will be joining our Reporting Team in our world class Research Design and Development department. We are responsible for global reporting and analysis of projects and the efficiency of departments. The reporting team play a vital role in supporting the engineering function of approx1500 technicians, scientists and engineers worldwide. We are looking for an enthusiastic and energetic business analyst who would like to further their career within a growing and successful company. Market Overview

In 2000, Dyson moved production from Malmesbury to Malaysia to be closer to our supply chains and open up international growth. The small team of 10 has now grown to almost 1,200 – forming Dyson’s second biggest global hub. Located in the exhilarating industrial heart of Johor, it’s also home to RDD, IT, operations, finance, creative and HR. The RDD facility is central to our plans to launch 100 new machines in the next four years. To meet these ambitions, we recently expanded the site to 30,000m², with 50 advanced technology labs and 700 new engineers. In the Dyson world, there’s no more exciting place to be.

Function Overview

The Business Analyst is responsible primarily for ensuring that the reporting needs of the business stakeholders are met. They are responsible for scoping, planning and requirement capture to enable the technical team to know fully what is required. This involves facilitating the business acceptance of the new reports/ tools. It also requires appropriate levels of pro-active analysis and hypothesis testing.


• Identifying change needs - Assessing the impact of the change, and documenting requirements

• Requirements capture – The ability to work with senior stakeholders, business leaders and internal suppliers

• Working with the technical team to develop and test the report or analysis method

• Deployment and user acceptance – Work with the stakeholders to ensure the detailed requirements have been met

• Working alongside the Optimisation team to improve processes

• Perform Ad-hoc analysis as required

• Manage key stakeholders and support BI projects for the relevant business group


• Excellent communication skills in order to communicate effectively with the stakeholders at all levels of the business and the reporting team

• Creative problem solving approach

• Strong analytical skills including a thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements
