Description

Solving problems is hungry work. As part of our catering team, you’ll provide the culinary inspiration to keep over 2,000 Dyson people firing on all cylinders. You’ll be overseen by our head chef – himself trained in a Michelin-star kitchen by Marco Pierre White. And you’ll be chopping and dicing from day one.

 

As part of a Level 2 Commis Chef Apprenticeship, you will work towards an industry-wide recognised qualification, also achieving an NVQ Level 2 Professional Cookery Diploma. The training will be provided by HIT Training Ltd and delivered in the form of work-based learning and workshops. You will be required to attend workshops for approximately one day every eight weeks, the location for which is to be confirmed, so please let us know in your application if you have access to a car. 


The apprenticeship will take approximately 12 months to complete with the end-point assessment taking place around month 13. There are further development opportunities available to exceptional candidates on completion of their Level 2 qualification.

Market Overview

Home to our global Research, Design and Development centre and all of our Commercial functions, Dyson HQ is tucked away in countryside famous for the railway tunnels and bridges of Isambard Brunel, who revolutionised modern engineering. Function Overview

The Café is run by our Michelin star trained Head Chef, who has worked hard to put together an excellent menu for everyone to enjoy. The Café offers a selection of hot and cold food; including a sandwich bar, salad bar, soups as well as a selection of teas and coffees.

Accountabilities

  • Prepare, cook and present food to the required standard. 
  • Keep kitchen clean, tidy and hygienic at all times.
  • Work safely around kitchen equipment.
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures.
  • Maintaining portion control and ensuring wastage is kept to a minimum.
