This is an exciting time for the Professional Division of Dyson. We have just launched a multi category business to business portfolio with exciting pieces of Airblade, Lighting, Purification and Haircare technology in over 54 markets. We believe this will change the face of the commercial market. With ambitious growth plans for the next 5 years we are looking for a proven senior marketing individual to lead the global marketing function.

 


Market Overview

Home to our global Research, Design and Development centre and all of our Commercial functions, Dyson HQ is tucked away in countryside famous for the railway tunnels and bridges of Isambard Brunel, who revolutionised modern engineering. Our secluded location helps us to protect our ideas and stay independent-minded. Yet nearby are the fashionable cities of Bristol and Bath (where a young James Dyson invented cyclone technology).

The building is the heartbeat of Dyson. Over 1,500 people, including James himself, spend their days strategizing, inventing technology and telling the Dyson story to the world. From 2016, our HQ will begin doubling its footprint with an ambitious new expansion.

Function Overview

Bringing brand new technology to life – and to the world – requires inventive marketing. Clarity of message. Vast reach. Constantly engaging in more innovative ways. Working closely with our engineers, our marketeers develop powerful claims through scientific research. And from traditional channels to cutting-edge events, retail experiences, social media and PR, they seize every chance to tell the Dyson story.

Accountabilities

Build, develop and inspire an effective commercial team to drive category performance across Dyson


Drive the category, whilst actively engaging with all Dyson business issues and opportunities; operate with the company’s overall commercial agenda at heart.


Be the category advocate - to continuously develop the ambition, energy, ideas and tools needed by marketing

and sales teams to get the best commercial outcomes from our products world-wide.

 

Lead central orchestration to deliver and in-market execution.


Partner with the Category Director from R&D to shape upstream category product development.


Skills

 The successful candidate would have a strong marketing background with a good appreciation of direct marketing channels and global product launches. As a natural leader and inspirer this would be an excellent opportunity for someone to develop and execute the global marketing strategy for the Professional division of Dyson.
Reporting hard line to the CCO and dotted to the Global Managing Director, the role will be based at our Malmesbury HQ.  Strong relationships are required between Group Marketing and our key regions: GB&I, EU, the Americas, Asia, & distributor markets, to ensure that business objectives are met by all parties. This role is complex and diverse, requiring experience and knowledge of B2B marketing, trade marketing and consumer marketing.
