Marketing Manager (Personal Care Category)

£30,000 - £45,000 + 27 days holiday + pension + bonus + onsite gym

Malmesbury, Wiltshire

Description

The Marketing Manager will enter a rapidly expanding business at a critical time in the fast growing, personal care category. As the expert, you’ll drive the commercial success of the category by planning, leading and executing global marketing projects to shape the future of one of the world’s favourite technology companies.

Market Overview

Home to our global Research, Design and Development centre and all of our Commercial functions, Dyson HQ is tucked away in the Wiltshire countryside. Our secluded location helps us to protect our ideas and stay independent-minded, yet nearby are the fashionable cities of Bristol and Bath.

The building is the heartbeat of Dyson. Over 2,000 people, including James himself, spend their days strategizing, inventing technology and telling the Dyson story to the world. In 2016, our HQ began doubling its footprint with an ambitious new expansion.

Function Overview

Bringing brand new technology to life – and to the world – requires inventive marketing. Clarity of message. Vast reach. And engagement in more innovative ways. Working closely with our engineers, our marketeers develop powerful claims through scientific research. And from traditional channels to cutting-edge events, retail experiences, social media and PR, we seize every chance to tell the Dyson story.

Accountabilities

As a Dyson Marketing Manager you’ll lead and inspire cross-functional, cross-discipline and cross-market teams to deliver initiatives that’ll increase category/product performance. You’ll collaborate with experts in a mix of functions (including creative, retail, digital, PR, advertising, graphics and packaging), and work with local country teams to understand local commercial contexts and influence when executing global marketing strategies.

You’ll provide end-to-end ownership of marketing campaigns from 15 months pre-launch for new product launches. You’ll need to understand competitor analysis for the overall category, applying the knowledge to a given product or project. You'll also be working closely with the Marketing Finance team to ensure a fluent understanding of volume and margin performance for your products.

This is not just proposition development. Marketing Managers will look at all commercial aspects of their products. And we'll be expecting you to work in the true Dyson way of identifying problems and finding solutions along the way.

Skills

The ideal candidate will have thrived in a fast-paced environment and come from the health and beauty personal care industry with a passion for technology. You’ll have strong experience of leading and managing work through virtual teams to review, plan, create and deliver.

Experience of doing this internationally, and across marketing related functions (e.g. R&D, Consumer Research, Creative) is very desirable.

You’ll have experience in product or brand management and a thorough knowledge of traditional and digital media, having worked with advertising, PR and promotion agencies.

You’ll be self-motivated, have demonstrable influencing skills to lead others and be a creative thinker who is not afraid to challenge the status quo and to take smart risks. You will be driven by a desire to win and strive for continuous improvement.

Benefits Overview

Dyson monitors the market to ensure competitive salaries and pension contributions. Beyond that, you’ll also enjoy a profit-related bonus, generous leave and life insurance. But financial benefits are only the start of a Dyson career. Rapid professional growth, leadership development and new opportunities abound, driven by regular reviews and dynamic workshops. And with a vibrant culture and a relaxed dress code reflecting our engineering spirit, it’s an exciting team environment geared to creativity, innovation and ambition.
