Technical Communications Executive

We are looking for a Communications Executive to advance Dyson’s story and share important updates with Dyson People. The role is instrumental in keeping people across Dyson on-top of our Blueprint (our annual strategy), sharing stories that bring to life our culture and communicating news, both good and bad.

The successful candidate will join our Global Communications team, based in Malmesbury.

Market Overview

Home to our global Research, Design and Development centre and all of our Commercial functions, Dyson HQ is tucked away in the Wiltshire countryside. Our secluded location helps us to protect our ideas and stay independent-minded, yet nearby are the fashionable cities of Bristol and Bath. The building is the heartbeat of Dyson. Over 1,500 people, including James himself, spend their days strategizing, inventing technology and telling the Dyson story to the world. In 2016, our HQ began doubling its footprint with an ambitious new expansion.

Function Overview

Working closely with our engineers, our press team lets the world's media know what's going on at Dyson; the technology we’re inventing, what goes on behind those secret research and development doors, where we’re expanding and what else is in store. In short, it keeps people talking about Dyson. Through traditional media, cutting-edge events, retail experiences, social media and PR, it seizes every chance to tell the Dyson story.


Reporting to the Senior Internal Communications Manager, you will support Dyson’s internal communications programme to inspire our people about Dyson’s technology, philosophy, leadership and performance. You will develop and execute our internal communications calendar, content and platforms of communication - including daily intranet updates, bi-monthly newsletters, monthly company meetings, as well as our annual conference for Dyson’s global leaders - Dyson World Service.

You will provide counsel to senior leaders on the messaging for organisation-wide announcements and longer term horizon scanning - helping them share news in a factual, enjoyable way with our people globally. You will work hand-in-hand with communications representatives in our markets to ensure we have consistent internal communications across Dyson spaces.

You will need to be confident and quick thinking, guiding our most senior leaders and our people through the daily challenges, while planning for the future. You should be excited by our technology and relish the opportunity to explain it to anyone and everyone. You have energy and enthusiasm for a fast-paced, results-focused culture, and live Dyson’s problem-solving approach. You will have an outstanding understanding of communications channels, the media landscape and the ability to tell inspiring stories is a given.

In addition you will have:

• A Bachelor’s degree of 2.1or above.

• Perfect written and verbal English and preferably a second language.

• Evidence of previously engaging stakeholders and building lasting relationships

• Proven experience in engaging people up, down, and across the organization through verbal and written communication.
