Malmesbury, Wiltshire

Description

We are looking for an experienced Team Coordinator to join our Competitor Strategy department. Our Competitor Strategy and Legal team are the defenders of Dyson’s claims and our superior technology.

If you enjoy working as part of a cross functional team and a varied workload this opportunity could be the right fit for you. You’ll build relationships with multiple stakeholders and support a business critical competitor insights and strategy team.

Market Overview

Home to our global Research, Design and Development centre and all of our Commercial functions, Dyson HQ is tucked away in countryside famous for the railway tunnels and bridges of Isambard Brunel, who revolutionised modern engineering. Our secluded location helps us to protect our ideas and stay independent-minded. Yet nearby are the fashionable cities of Bristol and Bath (where a young James Dyson invented cyclone technology).
The building is the heartbeat of Dyson. Over 1,500 people, including James himself, spend their days strategizing, inventing technology and telling the Dyson story to the world. From 2016, our HQ will begin doubling its footprint with an ambitious new expansion.

Function Overview

Dyson learnt an early lesson in the value of legal might, winning a grueling battle against Hoover when it infringed our early cyclone technology patents. Our in-house legal teams have been at the forefront of Dyson ever since. From the information security experts and IP teams doggedly protecting our ideas. To the commercial lawyers and procurement specialists who solve our toughest business challenges across the world.

Accountabilities

  • Purchasing competitor technology and liaising with our global markets
  • Onward shipping of machines as necessary
  • Managing the team’s financial administration

  • Arranging Dyson Legal travel plans (flights/train/taxi).

  • Manage meeting room booking requests and taking meeting minutes

  • Maintenance of the team database and information sharing sites

Skills

The successful individual will have strong organisational skills and thrive in an environment where they require high levels of attention to detail. You’ll have experience of building relationships across varied stakeholder groups and supporting teams where you have been able to balance conflicting demands on your time. This role will require the lifting/carrying of items which can sometimes be heavy.

An enthusiastic, committed and flexible approach to work is essential.

Benefits Overview

Dyson monitors the market to ensure competitive salaries and pension contributions. Beyond that, you’ll also enjoy a profit-related bonus, generous leave and life insurance. But financial benefits are only the start of a Dyson career. Rapid professional growth, leadership development and new opportunities abound, driven by regular reviews and dynamic workshops. And with a vibrant culture, flexible working hours, the latest devices and a relaxed dress code reflecting our engineering spirit, it’s an exciting team environment geared to creativity, innovation and ambition.
