The Consumer Retail Planner for Labor & Vendor Management will seek to provide actionable reporting and insight defining when, where and how we focus and invest our labor resources to efficiently grow our sales-out business.  He or she will work collaboratively with Field sales, Sales, National Accounts, Marketing, and 3rd Party Vendors to develop and implement a plan to optimize the Dyson labor coverage model ensuring we are making the right decisions and are grounded in data to drive towards our Sales ambitions.

Function Overview

Always evolving, always challenging, our Sales teams are the connection between Dyson and the fast-paced world of consumer and business sales. Across our global markets, we partner all the key players – online and on the high street. Plus, recently our first Dyson store was launched, with many more to come. It gives us a new benchmark for Dyson retail standards – elevating the brand and inspiring new ways to put Dyson technology into people's homes.

Accountabilities

Develop and maintain a Coverage Model, Manage Third Party Vendors, and Provide Labor Reporting with Sell-out team through the following:

Develop and Maintain Coverage Model

  • Develop a coverage model focused on optimizing investments in field labor refreshing on a quarterly basis as updated information and insight becomes available
  • Maintain coverage model facilitating any major or minor changes on a weekly basis
  • Ensure coverage alignment between all parties in Field Sales, National Accounts, Marketing, HR and Third Party Vendors
  • Ensure coverage model optimizes both the needs of the overall business and the intricacies of individual markets
  • Serve as a conduit of communication to management and working level re: coverage model and associated strategy

Act as the main point of contact re: Dyson badged labor

  • Partner closely with HR and third party partners re: the sourcing of labor and management of turnover
  • Work closely with Sell Out field leadership to provide tools and resources to support Dyson labor needs (ex. Scheduling tools/resources)
  • Provide ongoing visibility re: any labor or coverage issues or escalations
  • Is an expert re: Dyson badged labor requirements and processes

Manage Third Party Vendors 

Lead and facilitate the overall relationship between third party hiring partners and Dyson including the following:

  • Act as main point-of-contact for potentially several third Party labor partners serving as owner of the relationship from a labor perspective
  • communication of labor strategies, tactics, status and any escalations related to vendor provided labor with the third party
  • Ensure third Party hiring partners are providing strong candidates, meeting their hiring targets, and providing insightful reporting in a timely fashion
  • Provide meaningful and proactive feedback, on a regular basis, re: the nature of the relationship and the quality of the labor being provided
  • Act as main point-of-contact for communicating coverage scheduling with covered retailers  

Provide Labor Reporting

  • Provide weekly actionable reporting that summarizes sell out labor activity across the US
  • Provide actionable insights based on overall and local market trends in ROI, hiring rates, turnover, etc.
  • Partner to internal stakeholders to find ways to maximize labor contribution
  • Prepare presentations to report labor progress to members of the Field Sales, National Accounts, Marketing, HR and third party vendor teams
  • Work closely with third party partners to drive reporting and analysis and hold their teams accountable for KPI attainment 

Ongoing Partnership with Sales and Marketing Teams

  • Partner with the field sales team to share results in a meaningful way, relating to their roles
  • Seek consensus and approval from internal stakeholders for proposed plans; negotiate with accounts to achieve company's best position
  • Partner with accounts to help understand how sell-out teams are driving their business
  • Provide executive summaries for leadership team to understand high level hiring performance and drivers

Skills

  • 2+ years in an analyst role preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree required; business major preferred
  • Retail experience preferred
  • Experience working with a sales function preferred
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and Outlook required
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills required
  • Strong communication skills required
  • Strong relationship management skills
  • Ability to understand business drivers and make recommendations for action
  • An innovative yet objective thinker
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of the organization with positive intent
