The business is growing and international trade is becoming more complex.  As a result, a new customs manager role has been created, based in Singapore. You will be part of Dyson’s global customs team, working closely with the Senior Regional Customs Manager to drive forward customs compliance in Asia, supporting the Asia business needs on a wide range of customs matters and managing the regional customs team in Singapore, Malaysia & Philippines. Market Overview

Our Singapore story began in 2004 and today we have more than 1000 people working here. At the beginning of 2017 we opened our new, state of the art, Singapore Technology Centre in Science Park I, minutes from Singapore’s technology and start-up community. This new Technology Centre houses some of Dyson’s most advanced facilities including Robotics and Sensors laboratories and Smart Home, Connectivity & Mobile Applications laboratories as well as an Advanced Control Tower with the latest technology to develop its analytics-driven activities.

Function Overview

Our Financial Accounting team provides the foundation for Dyson’s global commercial success, creating and monitoring a framework of systems, processes and reporting that defines how we operate financially. The team forms a vital backbone of Dyson – encompassing our inventory, accounts payable and receivable, planning and analysis, and statutory reporting and consolidation. Delivering rapid performance insights and forecasting to help us stay ahead of the competition. And, in an organisation that doesn’t stand still, the team’s work is a growing challenge of ever-evolving numbers.

Accountabilities

  • Responsible for ensuring quick and compliant customs clearance in APAC markets

  • Ensure compliance filings are accurate and timely

  • Develop and implement new solutions to improve compliance processes, and/or improve existing ones

  • Evaluate and assist in implementation of trade compliance software systems as appropriate

  • Prepare and deliver training on country specific requirements to relevant stakeholders

  • Develop good working relationships with internal (logistics, supply chain, finance teams) and external stakeholders (suppliers, distributors, manufacturers, brokers) to drive forward customs compliance performance

  • Manage and develop the customs team in Singapore, Malaysia and Philippines

Skills

  • Minimum 3 years customs experience at manager level

  • Able to communicate effectively with people on all levels

  • Able to prioritise and work to deadlines and delivering projects

  • Attention to detail

  • Must be motivated, flexible and resilient

  • Willingness to travel within Asia

  • Project management skills
