Description and Requirements

As a Data Product Manager, you will help Dyson turn data and analytical resources into well-defined, impactful products that generate clear business value. You will ensure that tools, analyses, and datasets get delivered on time, by fostering collaboration and keeping people focused on the desired outcome.

Market Overview:

Building our analytical capabilities is a core pillar of Dyson's new global data strategy. As more consumers engage with Dyson, via more types of products, and across more markets, the volumes of data will greatly increase. Understanding how to use this data to improve everything from customer experiences to product development will be key to Dyson's success.

Function Overview:

This role will report to the Strategy Manager, and sits within the Global Data and Analytics team. This team is tasked with ensuring that the various parts of Dyson's business are able to leverage rich, accurate, and timely data to generate insights and make better decisions. Based in IT, the team has the resources and the remit to keep up with Dyson's impressive global growth.


As a Data Product Manager, you will be responsible for bringing analytical products to life, whether that product is a tool, an analysis, or a dataset. Once a product plan has been prioritized by the leadership, you will own the delivery of that product from inception through to presentation. By drawing upon resource from data engineering, advanced analytics, architecture, and the business, you will ensure that the product get delivered on time and according to the specification agreed with the business.

  • Product management, owning the conception, development, and delivery of a data product.
  • Requirement gathering, interfacing between the business and the team.
  • Project management, developing the plan for delivery and executing flawlessly.
  • Resource mobilization, working with other teams to ensure adequate capabilities.
  • Activation, holding stakeholders to account to ensure that the product launches successfully.


What is required for the role...

  • Degree qualified.
  • At least two years of experience in data analytics, business intelligence, or software development.
  • Good knowledge of data platforms and feel comfortable discussing technical requirements.
  • Preferably you will have experience in product or project management. While programming knowledge is not required, familiarity with big data solutions such as Hadoop is a plus.
