The Brand Graphic Design Team will focus on ensuring that the equity carried by our Visual Identity and it’s application isn’t at risk, and that instead it is being leveraged to add value to everything we do.
The ‘Image & Identity Team’ is one of three core teams within the central Dyson Commercial Division, reporting directly into the Global Creative Director. Its central role is to manage the definition, documentation, training and application of the Dyson Reputation, Visual Identity, Narrative, and Writing Character that will deliver the Dyson Experience. The team is divided into two areas of focus; Enterprise Comms, and Brand Graphic Design.
As a middleweight designer in the Image & Identity team, you’re focus will Brand Graphic Design. play an instrumental part in creating accurate and effective templates for digital campaign items. Working closely with the campaign team, to create accurate master files ready for transcreation. You will create a library of best practice and use this to help define layout principles and guidelines. You will also support the Brand Graphic Design Creative Head in defining the practical application standards, guidance and tools targeted at specific user needs and groups, to drive a more consistent creative and design approach in all digital spaces. The scope of the work is broad, covering areas such as Global Brand meaning, tone definition, VI standards and training.
You must show a good understanding of digital devices and their impact on ideas and content creation. You must stay up to date with the latest industry trends, you’ll have an excellent portfolio which highlights your Digital experience, with examples of Web, interactive, UX, UI, typographic, page layout and graphic design. You’ll also have experience in responsive design for multiple devices (including apps, tablet and mobile) and the ability to write compliant HTML and CSS to a basic level is required.
You will be digitally focused, with an eye for detail, layout, typography and a creative flair and an expert knowledge across the Adobe suite. It is essential that you understand information architecture and user interface design concepts and techniques. You’ll be as handy with pad and pen as you are with Mac and mouse and able to take your concepts from scamp stage to beautifully crafted digital designs. You’ll be able to demonstrate an excellent portfolio of work gained in a similar role working with leading brands and will be amazing at generating creative digital concepts. Genuine interest in the web, mobile and technology will be a given.
You should be enthusiastic, take pride in your work. We’ll be setting the benchmark for graphic design at Dyson, so everything we do has to be perfect. You should be comfortable voicing your opinions and be able to articulate your ideas – confidently and intelligently present your work, as you will be working directly with senior stakeholders throughout Dyson. You will need to be tenacious and resilient, while maintaining a positive attitude.
