Electronics Test Development Engineer

Competitive

Senai, Johor

Description

Dyson develops and manufactures complex electronics products requiring equally sophisticated, engineered Electronics PCBA FCT, Programming station, and EOL tester solutions. We need motivated and experienced Electronics Test Development Engineers to meet the diverse challenges delivering these intelligent test systems will provide. This is time-pressured and critical department within RDD, requiring dynamic individuals to develop this technology, deliver on deadlines and help drive our success.

Reporting to the SEA Electronics Manager, the successful candidate will become part of a busy team working for Electronics within Research Design and Development (RDD), generating integrated FCT solutions for PCBA’s, as well as product EOL tester specification. As our product diversity and technology roadmaps expand, so will our scope of activity; requiring smarter solutions across a broader technology platform.

Behaviours

It’s a demanding role and the ideal candidate will be an experienced Test Development Engineer, with a proven track record of creating robust, reliable test solutions; methodically, consistently, on time, every time. However you will also be able to self-manage and motivate, managing your own time in order to undertake a variety of related activities.  Dyson engineers are many things; you must be able to provide solutions where you identify problems, be pro-active, and become a role model plus technical resource for others. You must be innovative, enjoy being challenged, adapt to change, function within a team, but also work independently as required.

To meet these expectations we encourage our engineers to grow and expand their own capabilities, encouraging career development through training, experience and promotion; Dyson provides plenty of opportunities for motivated individuals to break through their own boundaries, to excel and drive their careers forward.

Market Overview

In 2000, Dyson moved production from Malmesbury to Malaysia to be closer to our supply chains and open up international growth. The small team of 10 has now grown to almost 1,200 – forming Dyson’s second biggest global hub. Located in the exhilarating industrial heart of Johor, it’s also home to RDD, IT, operations,  finance, creative and HR.

The RDD facility is central to our plans to launch 100 new machines in the next four years. To meet these ambitions, we recently expanded the site to 30,000m², with 50 advanced technology labs and 700 new engineers. In the Dyson world, there’s no more exciting place to be.

Function Overview

Sometimes, making a technological leap forward means going back to the beginning. Since 1999, we’ve spent £150m building a motor from scratch – small, light and efficient, yet extremely powerful. Our motors are what enable our technology to be different – it’s why they’re protected by 20 to 30 patents. But the next generation demands new directions. Energy storage, robotics, nanotechnology and space-age materials. So our multi-disciplinary team, led by some of the world’s best power electronics engineers, knows that only the most pioneering thinking will do.
