Events Assistant - Lower Ledge Farm - Part Time

We are current recruiting for 1 person to work between 11:00- 20:00 Monday to Friday , part time 20 hours.

Based at our new conference centre facility in Dyrham, this role will support both events managers in the running of all events held on site. This will involve general front of house duties and ensuring our delegates have a great experience whilst at the conference centre. You will work alongside the caterers, cleaners and events managers. There will be opportunity for the right candidate to get hands on events experience.

The role demands a degree of flexibility in working hours and will on occasion include some full time work to cover holidays. It may also require some work to be undertaken at the Malmesbury headquarters to support other large Dyson events on campus. We are looking for someone who delivers a great customer experience and is approachable.

Market Overview

Over 1,500 people, including James himself, spend their days strategizing, inventing technology and telling the Dyson story to the world. From 2016, our HQ will begin doubling its footprint with an ambitious new expansion.

Function Overview

Our Facilities team are responsible for providing a continuous, high standard maintenance to all Dyson sites. Ensuring health & safety guidelines are closely followed, security is monitored and the upmost care is taken to look after all guests and employees on site.


Responsible for:

  • Assist with the general running of the conference centre.

  • To assist with administrative duties when required, such as taking event bookings.

  • To answer telephone calls and assist with booking enquiries, answering queries.

  • To work on reception when required.

  • To ensure that all service areas are set up to the highest standard

  • To ensure that all meeting rooms are set up, serviced and cleared away.

  • Liaise with cleaning staff and suppliers.

  • To initiate good customer service.

  • To co-operate with all catering staff and undertake such duties in the kitchen /service areas as requested to ensure an efficient and effective service is delivered at all times

  • To project a willing and helpful attitude to guests.

  • To ensure catering areas under your control are maintained in a clean & tidy condition.

  • To report any faults to the events manager.

  • On occasion to assist with housekeeping duties across the 14 bedrooms onsite.


Personal Skills

  • Qualifications; G.C.S.E level or equivalent.

  • Experience in a similar role.

  • Customer services experience

  • First aid trained or willing to do a first aid course.

  • Strong interpersonal skills; ability to build productive working relationships and influence

  • Confident; comfortable when interacting with senior members of staff

  • Credible; ability to demonstrate a level of commitment

  • Level 1 foundation in food hygiene beneficial.
