Description and Requirements

The Field Excellence Specialist will lead and excel in retail merchandising/roadshow executions and ensuring a consistent and unified training & demo message to Product Specialist or Sales Staffs to maximize sales.

The role will report to our Sales Operations Manager and will be located in our Fusionopolis office. The team covers Southeast Asia, but the role will mainly focus on the Singapore market.

Note: As the role includes events like roadshows, the incumbent will be required to work on weekends or nights, on pre-event days.

The Singapore office provides the vision and strategy for Dyson’s business in Southeast Asia, covering key markets such as Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand, and growth/new markets such as Philippines and Indonesia.

Our Singapore story began in 2004. Its location is a base for advanced manufacturing in Asia. This, alongside the skilled workforce and world–class logistics infrastructure, have all contributed to Dyson’s exponential regional growth. Today, more than 1000 Dyson people work across three locations. The Singapore Technology Centre is our new, state of the art technology hub. West Park is our advanced manufacturing centre. And Fusionopolis is our sales and marketing hub.

Function Overview:

The goal of Field Excellence is to ensure that the brand image is well kept while performing visual merchandizing and roadshow executions. Building relationships with key retailers to obtain information that is vital to the business for forward planning and ensuring a consistent and unified training & demo message to the Sales Staffs.

Accountabilities:

  • Lead and excel in retail merchandising/marketing executions by ensuring strict and tighter execution.
  • Lead and execute roadshows and consumer events through working with retailers/distributor and other 3rd party vendors/contractors/suppliers to ensure retail activities are well executed and to build up operational capabilities.
  • Provide excellent customer service, build relationships, training, indoctrinate of Dyson values and demonstrate company products & benefits to targeted retailers (in our distribution points).
  • Ensuring a consistent and unified training & demo message to Product Specialist or Sales; Overall increasing the ability to close sales in the shortest period.
  • Providing an after sales setup & demonstration of newly purchased units at customer’s home environment to provide customer with the best of class Dyson’s experience.
  • Conduct frequent workshops to targeted consumers that touch on maintenance and correct handing of machines; potentially working on CRM to conduct NPD workshops to churn re-purchase of new machines.
  • Maximize sales by achieving his/her own individual targets and helping to achieve the company targets through closed door consumer workshop.
  • Develop retail growth plan based on understanding of field opportunity landscape, competitive landscape, understanding of the (consumer/ retailers) insights, and understanding of retail characteristics. 
  • Assist in daily operation that includes stock management, sales reporting and etc.

Skills:

The ideal candidate will come armed with relevant market information and the ability to self develop and build any potential business from scratch with the eye for details to spot any opportunities and problems in various aspect of his/her capacity.

Technical Requirements:
  • Diploma or Degree
  • 3-4 years of working experience in sales, training and visual merchandizing

  • Proactive, self-motivated and good interpersonal skills
  • Good command of English and Mandarin as the role is required to work with retailers/sales members who operate in either languages.
