Description

The Finance Manager is a role within the Financial Centre of Excellence (FCoE) Month End and Reporting team in Malmesbury. This role is responsible for delivery of month end close and reporting for all current FCoE serviced markets (currently 11 markets).  Delivery is expected to be of a consistently high standard and demonstrate global best practice, while safeguarding financials and enabling commercial success.   The role will work closely across all areas of Finance and FCoE markets to drive & maintain optimised and standardised processes.

 

The role reports through to the FCoE Financial Controller in a progressive and expanding team.

Function Overview

Our Financial Accounting team provides the foundation for Dyson’s global commercial success, creating and monitoring a framework of systems, processes and reporting that defines how we operate financially. The team forms a vital backbone of Dyson – encompassing our inventory, accounts payable and receivable, planning and analysis, and statutory reporting and consolidation. Delivering rapid performance insights and forecasting to help us stay ahead of the competition. And, in an organisation that doesn’t stand still, the team’s work is a growing challenge of ever-evolving numbers.

Accountabilities

  • Ensure all ‘International’ market month ends are closed free from material misstatement in line with Group timetable

  • Ensure all ‘International’ month end reports & KPIs are delivered in line with the FCoE/Market SLA

  • Oversee year end external audit requirements

  • Support on-going development of a robust Process Framework to support and govern global processes

  • Work at the same pace as Dyson, understanding any changes impacting FCoE and effectively addressing / embedding them in a timely manner

  • Lead the month end meetings with key internal stakeholders

  • Line management of circa 4 reports

  • Continue to build a top performing FCoE team, coaching and stretching individuals to fulfil their potential, supporting career development

  • Finance lead for delivery of draft and final P+L accounts and articulation of performance drivers to key stakeholders

Skills

  • Qualified Accountant with strong post qualification experience

  • Degree level education or equivalent

  • Line Manager experience

  • Technical ability in reporting systems (SAP preferable)

  • Excellent organisation with a strong ability to prioritise

  • Team leader with the gravitas to influence and get the best from all team members

  • Lead by example

  • Proactively highlights and progresses solutions for issues identified

  • Good communicator: able to offer clear and concise guidance and is confident speaking to senior stakeholders
