Dyson is offering the chance to join our business on a year-long Finance placement and, far from just watching from the sidelines, we’ll expect you to get hands-on and solve problems from the off, contributing as well as learning. On your placement you’ll be thrown into the real world with important, high profile contributions to make. You could experience areas such as financial control, reporting, management accounting and internal audit. All you’ll need is the ambition, skills and ideas to excel.
From day one you’ll work in a real job in our Group reporting team which encompasses the following areas:
- Management reporting: bringing together the results from around the world to produce the management accounts. You will gain an understanding of consolidation in a multinational group upon which Dyson Executives base their commercial decisions. You will take ownership of aspects of the month end reporting process as well as improving reporting and responding to requests for information from around the business.
- Budgeting and planning: support the Group collation from the markets to give the Global view, assisting the Senior Budget Accountant with loading, resolution issues, reports to present data, integrity and delivery.
- Statutory reporting: year-end Group accounts and those in UK markets are prepared by the team. Assist with analytical review for auditors, involvement in accounts preparation and ensuring no misstatements.
- Systems: supporting changes to our systems SAP & Onestream, involving extraction and analysis of large data sets.
We hope Placement students will want to be our Graduates of the future. So a commitment to learn about Finance, how our business operates and the financial considerations that decisions are based upon behind the scenes is important. You’ll need to be academically strong, on track for a 2.1 or higher in a relevant degree subject , have strong numeracy and communication skills, and a minimum of 300 UCAS points gained over three core subjects.
