The Financial Control Manager – Direct Sales is a key role within the Financial Centre of Excellence, responsible for driving global best practice, safeguarding financials and enabling commercial success. This is a 12 month maternity cover position.

Market Overview:

Dyson HQ is home to over 3,500 people who work across a medley of engineering and commercial functions. Function Overview:

Our Financial Accounting function provides the foundation for Dyson’s global commercial success. Creating and monitoring a framework of systems, processes and reporting that defines how we operate financially. The team forms a vital backbone of Dyson – encompassing our inventory, accounts payable and receivable, planning and analysis, and statutory reporting and consolidation. Delivering rapid performance insights and forecasting to help us stay ahead of the competition. And, in an organisation that doesn’t stand still, the team’s work is a growing challenge of ever-evolving numbers.

Accountabilities:

As our Financial Control Manager you will achieve success through being a key stakeholder of the Payments Governance Group (PGG). The group, works on behalf of a steering committee and consisting of key individuals from the business, who support the Direct strategy through using market insights and internal knowledge to make decisions on payment instruments, payment tools, fraud, risk and business performance across our global omni-channel business units.

Secondly a critical aspect of the role is maintaining the high integrity of our accounts through strong reconciliation processes and controls for all business to consumer transactions, including adapting and continuous improvements to an ever changing payments and fraud landscape coming from the PGG decisions.

The role has team management of five, with one direct line report.

  • Managing FCoE Direct Sales Financial Control team ensuring reconciliations are performed and risks are managed ensuring high integrity of accounts is maintained at all times.
  • Ensure all decisions regarding new payment instruments are made based on entire end to end from customer experience through to reconciliations & accounting.
  • Drive standardisation globally regarding payments reconciliation and risk reporting to all Dyson markets through projects, and continuous improvements.
  • Interact with global business teams to optimize card acquiring solutions for each market.
  • Working with IT, Procurement and Legal where required to shape payments solutions that have been approved to proceed.
  • Building an expert Direct payments team, through continuous education and support to match the business aspirations with global Omni channel payment offerings.
  • Stay current and update company stakeholders on market development (e.g. payments related regulatory changes, payments innovation, etc.).
  • Ensures that the business and PGG have up to date intelligence on vulnerabilities in payment applications and networks.
  • Supporting the Payments Steering Committee to formulate Global payments strategy. Including working with markets to deliver the communication of the strategy where appropriate.
  • Reporting and escalating consumer fraud and risks to the business.
  • Regular performance reviews, risks/opportunities are highlighted back to the business/commercial teams.
  • Managing the relationship with Dyson Global PSPs

Skills:

You will be a qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA etc) with line management and direct to consumer trading experience. You will have experience of Omni-channel payment acceptance business and knowledge of payment settlement, reconciliation and investigation tasks.
