The DACH Finance Manager role in the Professional business represents an exciting opportunity to provide business decision support to the market leaders of our German, Austrian and Swiss markets with considerable scope to influence and drive commercial performance.
Based in Cologne, the role is responsible for ensuring robust controls and processes are in place to deliver timely, accurate reporting, as well as analysing performance to provide insights that will contribute to the future growth of the region.

Dyson is a global technology company founded in 1993 in Malmesbury, UK. Since 1998 Dyson can be found on the German market. Over 130 people are now responsible for the marketing and selling of Dyson's products.

Function Overview

Dyson Professional has developed from the Dyson Airblade business that launched in 2006. Since 2016 the business has been on a journey of rapid transformation with the introduction of the Lighting category and the addition of Dyson’s consumer technology to create a broad B2B product portfolio targeted at the hospitality, healthcare, transport, office and education sectors. The business demonstrates Dyson technology to millions of potential customers every day. We operate across 54 countries around the world, with the Dyson HQ based in Malmesbury, UK.


  • Commercial Business Partnering - Commercially astute with an in-depth understanding of the Professional business. Provide financial insight to the DACH leadership team that supports and challenges decision making and helps to grow the business
  • Financial Processes and Control - Own the financial processes and the controls environment. Ensure the timely and accurate reporting of performance and that individuals act with a high degree of integrity
  • Financial Analysis - Interpret results and provide analysis to the market teams, the EMEA MD and the Group function that aids understanding of the drivers of performance and market trends
  • Financial Planning - Prepare budgets and forecasts for the region that provide a realistic view of likely future performance. Ensure potential risks and opportunities have been evaluated and understood
  • Management Accounting - Responsible for month-end accounting processes (accruals, cost centre management, etc.). Own the relationship with the UK central accounting team (FCOE) to ensure the accuracy of financial information
  • Market Support - Responsible for supporting the individual markets in the DACH region necessitating regular travel to Austria and Switzerland to meet with local market MDs
  • Sales Team Support - Deliver value to local sales teams through analysis of sales performance and profitability (e.g. pricing, terms, promotions).


  • Qualified Accountant with about 2 years experience of working
  • Degree level education or equivalent
  • Management Accounting background preferred
  • Proficient in reporting systems and Excel
  • Organised self-starter with strong ability to work independently
  • Fluency in German & English
  • Competent and confident when presenting information, in particular when presenting financial information to senior non-finance stakeholders. Written communication style is clear and concise
  • Flexible and pragmatic in approach; balances areas requiring focus with recognition of the importance of avoiding unnecessary delays to progress
  • Energetic and engaging with a positive ‘can-do’ attitude; a problem solver
  • Able to develop and maintain strong relationships with colleagues; a team player and proven business partner
