Description and Requirements

You will be responsible for the delivery and management of key processing and forecasting outputs from the Process & Forecasting Team to the Global Overheads Finance Business Partnering Team, via Query management and resource allocation processes.

This is a maternity cover position for 14 months.

Function Overview:

Our Financial Accounting function provides the foundation for Dyson’s global commercial success. Creating and monitoring a framework of systems, processes and reporting that defines how we operate financially. The team forms a vital backbone of Dyson – encompassing our inventory, accounts payable and receivable, planning and analysis, and statutory reporting and consolidation. Delivering rapid performance insights and forecasting to help us stay ahead of the competition. And, in an organisation that doesn’t stand still, the team’s work is a growing challenge of ever-evolving numbers.


  • Ensure Month End processes are completed to deadlines and to required standard of the GOFBP Team.
  • Engage with various stakeholders throughout the business to ensure changes to systems, policies and business requirements are reflected within the GOFBP team processes.
  • Drive efficiencies by streamlining, creating, adapting and embedding processes. This will involve controls and governance of processes owned by P&F team and the wider Finance community if rolled out globally.  
  • Establish an internal SLA between the P&F team and its stakeholders.  

  • By establishing processes and mechanisms within the GOFBP team, provide the base forecast information relating to FTE, Headcount, Overhead Costs, BBI and CAPEX. 
  • Manage the analytical support provided to the GOFBP team during key deliverable periods of time such as quarterly LE/Forecasting and budgeting cycles, and standardise where possible. 
  • Explore mechanisms and systems in order to streamline forecasting activities, feeding into enhanced reporting outputs.

Management/ Coordination
  • Line management and task management of the P&F team (currently 3 heads). 
  • Ensuring there is development of the team by providing experience and exposure to different areas of the business. 
  • Coordinate activities between GOFBP team and other teams within Dyson where required to, ensuring the requirements of GOFBP are embedded in other teams processes/activities. 
  • Manage the interactions between the GOFBP Finance Business Partners and their P&F Partner, ensuring common themes/activities are then standardised and optimised. Challenging current ways of working and approaches, to ensure value is added where possible. 
  • To provide cover for certain activities for the Head of Global Overheads - Business Partnering as and when required to.  

Knowledge Transfer
  • Ensure there is knowledge transfer within the team and the GOFBP team through clear Process documentation, embedding a SME structure and rotation of activities between team members. 
  • Embed a clearly defined structure and mechanisms in order to provide Knowledge Transfer to Stakeholders. 

Continuous Improvement
  • Through ownership of processes and change management, ensure there is continuous improvement which will drive efficiency and optimisation across people, process, technology and partners that benefits delivery of services provided to stakeholders.
  • Be a key stakeholder on forums which impact our department/processes such as project forums, workshops, forum interactions with other departments to ensure changes to policy, processes and procedures are updated in the GOFBP Processes. To also ensure stakeholder engagement and operational processes are taken into consideration when new systems and processes are developed within Dyson which affect the remit of GOFBP


You will be a Qualified Accountant with line management and process improvement experience. You will have experience of developing a financial controls environment through delivery of process documentation, process efficiencies etc. coupled with a strong financial accounting and analysis background.

We need you to be academically minded and detail orientated with excellent analytical and problem solving skills and high levels of integrity.

From a technical perspective you will possess strong skills especially in Excel and Financial Systems and able to demonstrate a commercial aptitude and ability to develop systems and processes which drive efficiencies.
