Description

The Assets Assistant is a key role in Finance Centre of Excellence (FCoE) supporting the Senior Accountant with accountability for the Fixed Asset Lifecycle. The individual will be key to reconciling and capitalising fixed assets within all FCoE accounting regions as well as supporting the wider global business community in achieving best practice in all processes.

Function Overview

Our Financial Accounting function provides the foundation for Dyson’s global commercial success. Creating and monitoring a framework of systems, processes and reporting that defines how we operate financially. The team forms a vital backbone of Dyson – encompassing our inventory, accounts payable and receivable, planning and analysis, and statutory reporting and consolidation. Delivering rapid performance insights and forecasting to help us stay ahead of the competition. And, in an organisation that doesn’t stand still, the team’s work is a growing challenge of ever-evolving numbers.

Accountabilities

Building strong working relationships with international colleagues and local stakeholders will form a significant aspect of the role. The Accounts Assistant will be positioned in a team of 4 including graduate and part qualified roles reporting in to the Senior Accountant. It is expected that this role will support the rest of the team

Key Responsibilities:
  • Reconciliation of Assets Under Construction
  • Capitalising and documenting completed assets 
  • Communicating risk to the Senior Accountant
  • Supporting the wider business community and resolving capital queries.

Skills

Essential:
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills
  • Advanced IT skills – Microsoft Office & SAP
  • Proactive approach with great problem solving skills.
  • Highly Motivated to achieve results
  • Team player

Desirable
  • Prior experience in a Financial Control environment
  • Good knowledge/experience of statutory accounts and standards
  • Multi-lingual
