Dyson is going through an exciting technology change for their web platform, and we need an enthusiastic and talented front-end development lead to come with us on the journey! Dyson is a place that’s never boring, and we’re investing a huge amount of money in the new web platform and the right people to help us grow it.

We want to deliver web pages and experiences that are as good as our products. This will be a combination of working on our brand-new e-commerce platform and greenfield projects – including secret, new-product related things!

Market Overview:

Bristol is home to over 300 people who work across Software and Owner Experience functions. The site has fantastic views of Bristol and is a modern collaborative space offering great access to cafes, shops, restaurants and transport links. The site is within easy reach of both the Cotswolds and cities like Bath and Swindon along the M4 corridor.

Function Overview:

Dyson’s Global IT applications service has end to end accountability for the design, delivery and support of all business applications enabling Dysons global commercial, operational and enterprise business process. Forming a large proportion of the IT Function, the team are arranged into investment areas including Owner Experience & Retail, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Finance & compliance and People and collaboration.

Accountabilities:

  • You would be leading our talented front-end team, who work in scrum teams alongside full stack developers, QA, and other disciplines
  • You’d be helping to shape and define the tools and techniques the front-end team use, and working with the wider technical team to ensure that we deliver high-quality code in the right way.

Skills:

  • HTML, CSS and Javascript are your bread and butter. You take pride in writing clean, maintainable code with an eye for the future.
  • You can talk confidently to us about frameworks like Angular, Vue, React etc.
  • You can show us examples of the great stuff you’ve built during your career so far.
  • You’re a good communicator. You can talk techie (including back-end)
  • You can talk to us confidently about agile software delivery.
  • You love solving problems. We will give you lots.

  • Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) experience
  • Experience integrating front-end work with a CMS
  • Open source contributions
  • Existing team leadership experience
