The HR Advisor is a great opportunity for a dynamic HR professional who is keen to develop their business partnering skills within a world class manufacturing organization. Reporting to the site HR Business Partner, the individual will provide generalist HR support across the business at West Park, Singapore. 

A team player, the role will require the individual to have strong analytical, sound knowledge of reporting skills and effective organization skills to be able to support and manage projects. The individual will have to be resilient and able to work with ambiguity, facilitating line managers to identify key people issues and support their HR requirements.

Market Overview

Our Singapore story began in 2004 and today we have more than 1000 people working here. At the beginning of 2017 we opened our new, state of the art, Singapore Technology Centre in Science Park I, minutes from Singapore’s technology and start-up community. This new Technology Centre houses some of Dyson’s most advanced facilities including Robotics and Sensors laboratories and Smart Home, Connectivity & Mobile Applications laboratories as well as an Advanced Control Tower with the latest technology to develop its analytics-driven activities.

Not too far away is West Park, our flagship advanced motor manufacturing facility where we develop our autonomous robotic manufacturing capabilities – more than 300 robots assemble our Dyson Digital Motor (DDM) here. It is here that we develop our next generation of motor technology.                           

Function Overview

Dyson is a technology business that values people above all else. This puts HR at the heart of the business – with specialist functions for Talent Development, Acquisition, Operations and Rewards. The HR Generalist function is the linchpin of all of these departments. We oversee every people-related decision, with unique knowledge of the bigger business and commercial objectives.

Accountabilities

The HR Advisor will work closely and support with the site HR Business Partner, managers and employees across a range of HR activities which are fully aligned with the business strategy.

  • Demonstrate strong professional credibility and build relationship as a trusted advisor with managers and leaders in West Park.
  • Work with the site HR Business Partner to identify and develop HR priorities within the business – to ensure plans are in place to tackle key people risks and challenges over the short and longer term.
  • Support the site HRBP in designing and implementing a strong employee engagement plan for West Park, by working closely with the employees.
  • Collaboratively work with the managers in West Park to drive core processes such as performance management, salary reviews and also coach and support managers to maximize the value of the whole process.
  • Work closely with the managers to identify capability gaps within functions and individuals and look for channels to address those needs
  • Participate and support in the delivery of key projects developed by the HR centers of excellence – such as embedding new behaviors, HR systems or development programmes
  • To have a clear understanding of the recruitment needs for West Park. Working closely with the business, recruitment teams and hiring manager to hire the appropriate talent efficiently.

Experience
  • Has worked within a matrix environment and structure within a global organization
  • Experience of working in a technology organization –  Manufacturing/ Operations would be desirable
  • Experience of working within an entrepreneurial organisation would be desirable
  • Degree or equivalent - Recognized accredited HR related qualification.
