Description and Requirements

The HR Advisor role is pivotal to driving the success of the Swiss market. Representing the people agenda in all people activity, the role is to develop, champion and drive a people agenda which will enable successful delivery of the business objectives and enable Dyson’s rapid change and transformation up to 2020 and beyond.

You will be a trusted and commercial minded partner, working with the Swiss leadership team to ensure that all people activity is integrated to help us to attract, develop and retain great people, passionate about Dyson.


Market Overview:

Dyson is a global technology company founded in 1993 in Malmesbury, UK. Over 10,000 people, including James Dyson himself, spend their days strategizing, inventing technology and telling the Dyson story to the world. It's all about better ideas and better technologies to solve other people problems.

Since 1998 Dyson can be found on the Swiss market, based in Zurich. Over 40 people are now responsible for the marketing and selling of Dyson's products.

Function Overview:

With our ambitious growth plans we need people who can grow at pace with us. The role is based in Zurich, reporting to the Senior HRBP DACH, with a dotted line to the Swiss MD and part of the European HR community. Some travel may be required on an ad-hoc basis.

Accountabilities:

  • Develop effective on-going relationships with the leadership team and their teams, establishing yourself as a credible, respected and valued partner in the market
  • To maintain and further develop commercial knowledge of the rapidly changing business environment. Work closely with, and provide appropriate challenge to the leadership team to be a key contributor of the business’s decision making process
  • Develop with business leaders and underpin strategic business plans with robust organisational design
  • Work with the Recruitment and Management team to critically assess levels of resource.  Provide advice and support on all recruitment
  • Deliver expert and customer focused operational HR support - providing advice and guidance to resolve day-to-day queries as they arise
  • Work to up-skill the manager capability on all management issues including performance management, absence management, and employee relations issues
  • Provide expert advice in all areas of HR policy and practice, keeping employment law knowledge current
  • Coach, challenge and influence Directors and Senior Managers to develop the organisational capability required to enable delivery of business deliverables; anticipate the changing needs of the business and drive the active management and development of talent
  • Lead the talent agenda for your business area, understanding the key talent, their strengths and development needs and actively participate in talent management discussions with the business teams

Skills:

  • Strong HR experience operating as a generalist key contact for line managers/leaders
  • Experience of working within an entrepreneurial organisation culture is desirable
  • Strong relationship building and influencing skills
  • Business focused and commercially aware
  • Enthusiasm and drive for results
  • Fluent in German and advanced English required
