As part of the £2.5 billion investment, Dyson acquired a 650 acre plot in Hullavington. This former Royal Air Force base, just five miles from Dyson HQ, will increase our UK footprint tenfold. We’ll be turning old hangars into futuristic labs and workspaces – creating a campus to rival those in Silicon Valley.

Function Overview

We’ve begun work on a battery electric vehicle – that’s no secret. It has remained our ambition to solve the worldwide problem of air pollution for nearly 30 years. Now that we have the ability to bring all our technologies together into a single product, we’re able to solve this problem at the source. For now, it’s all about finding the right people to make it all happen for 2020.

Accountabilities

Our Electronics Hardware Design Engineers design, develop and test analogue and digital circuits, as well as maturing test equipment for verification, validation and EoL. Key responsibilities include:
  • Specifying requirements
  • Implementing requirements
  • Establishing timing estimates
  • Creating schematics
  • Advising and supporting layouts
  • Performing Worst Case Analysis
  • Performing FMEAs & FMEDAs & FTAs
  • Performing Spice simulations
  • Performing Signal Integrity simulations
  • Estimating BOM and NRE costs
  • Performing as well as managing bench, verification, validation and integration tests for functional, EMC, ESD and environmental performance
  • Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory and relevant industry standards
  • Creating reports and presentations
  • Interfacing with suppliers and manufacturers

Skills

  • Considerable experience designing & developing production-intent products
  • Bachelor or Master Degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering or a similar field of engineering
  • Experience with uC designs using PPC, ARM or TriCore
  • Familiarity with standard test equipment like DMMs, frequency & signal generators, oscilloscopes, spectrum and protocol and audio analysers
  • Ready and eligible for international travel
  • Pro-active, self-motivated and a team player
  • Experience with some of the following tools: Mentor xPedition, Hyperlynx, Medini, DOORS, Matlab , Simulink, LTSpice, SVN / GIT
