Description and Requirements

Provides leadership and strategic direction to a team of QA professionals to support all Dyson markets globally, they direct QA and release management operations across Group IT business applications (mainly SAP products). This role is expected to instill world class QA practice including working with development teams to implement Behaviour Driven Development (BDD) and automated testing.

Function Overview:

Dyson’s Global IT applications service has end to end accountability for the design, delivery and support of all business applications enabling Dysons global commercial, operational and enterprise business process. Forming a large proportion of the IT Function, the team are arranged into investment areas including Owner Experience & Retail, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Finance & compliance and People and collaboration.

Accountabilities:

  • Integrate automated test development 
  • Build a repeatable load testing strategy across the business application landscape and integrate with delivery and release process.
  • Build a repeatable penetration testing strategy across the business application landscape.
  • Produce product and process quality reports by collecting, analysing, and summarizing information and trends 
  • Procure and contract 3rd party QA resource providers to develop flexibility and agility in QA supply to meet the business needs 
  • Oversee and proactively coordinate QA planning and execution to ensure collaboration in e2e delivery including driving the TDD process.
  • QA management across multiple projects, off-shore and in-house to meet project and BAU team commitments.
  • Assurance of strong risk management and risk based testing including hands on direction at regular stand ups and team meetings.
  • Strong management of QA capacity pipeline with clear link to roadmap investments and BAU release schedule.
  • 3rd party management including leading stakeholder in QA related RFI / RFP, contract negotiation and performance monitoring.
  • Provide subject matter expertise to team members and internal/external stakeholders on complex projects and programmes.
  • Operate in new agile delivery processes e.g. DSDM with Kanban and Scrum.

Skills:

  • Experience managing testing departments or testing functions, managing large and complex activities and processes.
  • Experience in implementing and shaping the company’s QA processes and strategies.
  • Proven experience of leading, coaching and mentoring a large team of QA test professionals.
  • Strong interpersonal and team building skills.
  • Experience with Agile software development methodologies is highly desired.
