Head of Category, Connected Products, 12 month maternity cover

A Head of Category sits in the Group Commercial organization and reports to the Operations Director. Working as an expert within the category, they will develop and apply a deep understanding of how to market and drive the commercial success of the Connected Products Category globally; planning, leading and executing global projects that will drive commercial performance, both NPD launches and ‘in-life’ initiatives.
The role takes ownership for providing effective cross-functional
and cross-market leadership and coordination for their assigned
products/projects. They’ll collaborate
with and pull on the expertise of colleagues in Group Commercial functions (UX
and UI, creative, retail, digital, PR, advertising, graphics and packaging),
and work with global in-market teams to understand local commercial contexts
and influence and execute global strategies. They will be supported by
a Commercial Exec, to keep the operational side of projects on time and running
This is not just proposition development. A Head of Category will look at all commercial aspects of their products: ranging, pricing, distribution, promotional strategy etc.
Experience of product or brand management, i.e. simultaneous management of product marketing and communications.
Strong knowledge of traditional and digital media.
Minimum 2:1 degree.
Experience working with and managing advertising, PR and promotion agencies.
