As Head of Finance, you are leading the Swiss Finance team. As a member of the management team the role is pivotal to driving the financial success of the Swiss market through strategic analysis, reporting and financial challenge.  A partner to the Swiss Managing Director, the role looks for continuous improvement and new ideas to drive the success of the market.  With a dotted reporting line into the Finance Director Europe, the role collaborates with the wider global Dyson finance leadership team to develop new efficient global ways of working that enable Dyson’s rapid change and transformation up to 2020 and beyond.

Market Overview

Dyson is a global technology company founded in 1993 in Malmesbury, UK. Over 10,000 people, including James Dyson himself, spend their days strategizing, inventing technology and telling the Dyson story to the world. It's all about better ideas and better technologies to solve other people problems. 
Since 1998 Dyson can be found on the Swiss market, based in Zurich. Over 40 people are now responsible for the marketing and selling of Dyson's products.

Function Overview

The Swiss Finance team owns the market P&L and forecast.  The team delivers data, analysis and insight to support and enable commercial business decision making.  The function operates across all categories, channels and operational teams.


Financial Ownership of Swiss business

  • Enhance profitability through robust financial control and reporting
  • Provide support and challenge to commercial decision areas of the business through value added analysis, at both a strategic and operational level
  • Input into formulation of Swiss market strategy ensuring risks and opportunities are identified and quantified
  • Champion the Dyson finance strategy core pillars of Lead, Enable and Safeguard throughout the Swiss business
  • Management and Reporting of Swiss Financial Performance.
  • Provide accurate monthly reporting of performance detailing variances from budget and target
  • Review of P&L during month end process and guide Finance Centre of Excellence (Headquarter) in terms of needed P&L adjustments
  • Creation of management reports, scorecards, commentaries etc.
  • Represent CH in EU Performance calls
  • Manage budget and LE process to ensure risks and opportunities are identified and understood, through review and challenge of commercial managers and the MD

Budget Planning

  • Setting up the budget model
  • Support departments during overhead planning
  • Support sales department during volume planning with range updates, headquarter knowledge
  • Continuously search for cost saving opportunities and profit making measures
Administration and management of monthly payroll
  • Develop and coach members of the Swiss Finance Team
  • Increase their involvement in decision making and supporting the business and partnering the Swiss leadership team
Fulfill other duties as required
  • Contact person for auditors
  • Ad hoc analysis and problem solving
  • Fleet Management
  • Insurance Management


  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in Finance/Controlling
  • High degree of analytical skills, combined with the ability to turn insights into clear recommendations and actions
  • Methodical business planning capability
  • High level of communication skills both verbal and written
  • Experience of leading a small team
  • Excellent personal and business presentation skills
  • Decisive and excellent influencer
  • Self-starter who sees things to completion
  • Energetic, engaging and positive approach

  • Degree in Business Administration with specialization in Finance / Controlling preferable
  • Fluency in German & English
