Business Analysts are the bridge between the identification of business problems and providing technology solutions. During this two year programme you will experience a diverse and challenging range of global IT enabled projects.
Home to our global Research, Design and Development (RDD) centre and all of our Commercial functions, the Dyson HQ campus can be found in secluded countryside that helps keep our secrets secret. Having doubled in size in 2016, the campus is now home to new research and development facilities, a new restaurant (home to an English Electric Lightning jet) and a sports facility catering to all Dyson people. Nearby are the fashionable cities of Bristol and Bath (where a young James Dyson invented cyclone technology).
During this two year programme you will experience a diverse and challenging range of global IT enabled projects. You’ll be liaising with business users and stakeholders to support the management of change initiatives across all Dyson’s global markets using IT systems and business applications.
Projects areas are varied – with internal or external focus and could include customer experience, business analytics, ‘digital leap’ our 2-year IT infrastructure upgrade, and other internal related digital projects. But key areas of the Business Analyst programme will include:
• Support for project planning and management – understanding business needs, responsible for quality of delivery, identifying risks and issues arising, taking ownership ensuring resolution.
• Business change management – identification of business change elements, deliver designs that meet business requirements whilst minimising resistance along the way. Quickly identifying any problems as they arise and finding solutions to keep on track.
• Supporting the development process – supporting a variety of delivery methods to ensure stakeholders are engaged and their feedback is managed appropriately to enable project success. Working with partners to make sure it is delivered on time and to quality levels.
• Testing & training – not a technical tester, but you’ll partner with test analysts to identify design elements to interrogate to ensure they are aligned with the overall project plan.
Each project will have clear objectives for delivery in a given time period – becoming a systems expert, gaining in depth understanding of Dyson’s supporting technology and bringing this to life for customers as required. The programme will start in our Global HQ but by the second year you could be in one of our markets supporting global projects
We’ll expect a lot from you. And no day will be the same as the last. You’ll be on track for a 2:1 or above in a relevant analytical discipline or from other degree disciplines so long as you can demonstrate your technical understanding and relentless attention to detail.
Show us how you’ve managed projects in a busy and deadline driven environment, either from your work placement year or short term internship, and we’ll show you the rest.
Do all this and in return you’ll get a competitive salary and pension, profit-related bonus, generous leave and life insurance. But financial benefits are only the start of a Dyson career. With a vibrant culture, flexible working hours, the latest devices and a relaxed dress code reflecting our engineering spirit, it’s an exciting team environment geared to creativity, innovation and ambition.
