Insight Manager, (maternity cover contract)

£30-45kpa plus 27 days holiday, company bonus, healthcare, onsite gym, pension

This maternity cover contract gives the successful applicant an opportunity to be responsible for owning and delivering the insight programme for a Dyson category.

Market Overview

Home to our global Research, Design and Development centre and all of our Commercial functions, Dyson HQ is tucked away in countryside famous for the railway tunnels and bridges of Isambard Brunel, who revolutionised modern engineering. Our secluded location helps us to protect our ideas and stay independent-minded. Yet nearby are the fashionable cities of Bristol and Bath (where a young James Dyson invented cyclone technology).
The building is the heartbeat of Dyson. Over 2,000 people, including James himself, spend their days strategizing, inventing technology and telling the Dyson story to the world. From 2016, our HQ will begin doubling its footprint with an ambitious new expansion.

Function Overview

The Claims, Standards and Insights team is the interface between Dyson’s engineers and its marketing team – it takes Dyson’s inventive technology and differentiates it by articulating compelling scientific proof. They’ve got privileged access to top secret developments in research and development and partner with engineers to ensure we develop world leading technologies. One foot in engineering, the other in creative communications, they are both technical and imaginative thinkers who use logic and creativity to solve problems and influence Dyson’s global success.

You'll be responsible for owning and delivering the insight programme for a Dyson category and ensuring this is communicated back to relevant teams. You'll set-up and support in-market product trials throughout the milestone process. In this role you'll be expected to run ad hoc projects to support our marketing and creative teams. These may be qual based to understand a particular problem / solution, or Quant based to understand an opportunity or risk. An example would be working with product marketing and engineering teams to understand usage so as to inform product specifications. This role will also have an element of coaching the commercial marketing managers in best use of research and insight so as to deliver product propositions.

We're looking for someone from a market research or insight background who has experience in setting up and running multi-market projects. They must have both quantitative and qualitative skills and be familiar with SPSS, JMP or Snap survey software(s) and advanced Excel and PowerPoint. With strong presentation skills this person will be able to present findings in the most compelling way, creating ways to deliver insight to a broad range of customers. This person will be able to manage numerous stakeholders, know when to push-back and say 'no' and when to ensure certain pieces of work are prioritized.

Benefits Overview

Dyson monitors the market to ensure competitive salaries and pension contributions. Beyond that, you’ll also enjoy a profit-related bonus, generous leave and life insurance.
