International IT Graduate Program
Dyson is a global technology company. Using a desire to make things work better as a catalyst for invention, our team of 3,000 engineers and scientists are passionate about developing technology that solves the problems others often ignore. From the world’s first bagless vacuum cleaner, to hand dryers that use 420mph sheets of air to remove moisture from hands, to a completely re-thought hair dryer with its motor in the handle, we are relentless about engineering better solutions. Dyson spends $8.8 million a week on research and development and works with more than 40 universities worldwide to develop early-stage technologies.
Dyson launched in the US in 2002, with the DC07 vacuum cleaner. Within 2 years, it was market share leader. Now, the US team is nearly 1,000 strong, with offices in Chicago, IL; Aurora, IL; San Francisco, CA; and Dyson people around the entire country. And we are still growing. Dyson US is poised to double its footprint, and take on new categories. Already a target for our competitors, challenging times are ahead. And our battle-hungry US team is fired up.
You’ll be liaising with business users and stakeholders across Dyson globally to support the management of change initiatives across all Dyson’s markets using IT systems and business applications.
Starting off in our US Headquarters in Chicago you’ll spend the first 12 months rotating around a number of different roles to build your knowledge and expertise;
Identify business requirements and deliver designs that meet business needs
Support a variety of delivery methods to ensure stakeholders are engaged and their feedback is managed appropriately to enable project success.
Partner with test analysts to identify design elements to interrogate to ensure they are aligned with the overall project plan.
Supporting and delivering small to medium projects upholding the highest standards of project management methodology including regular and effective communication with key stakeholders, governance, change management and thorough risk management.
- Define and deliver continuous improvement programs
- Support the planning of services including service strategy, availability, capacity, security, disaster recovery and business continuity planning
- Provide input to the requirements gathering and design stages of IT projects
- Build strong relationships with the wider business to ensure regular communication of service requirements, service improvements, risks, service changes, service outages and any service issues
From there you’ll spend the second year of the program in one of our markets supporting global projects. This could be China, Singapore or our global HQ in the United Kingdom depending on your skillset – you’ll need to be prepared to go wherever we need you.
Our most successful Dyson employees have more than just academic smarts – and we’ll expect you to have practical knowledge and experience that will help you contribute to our mantra of ‘wrong-thinking’ and doing things better. You’ll also need a head for data and great communication skills. A relevant IT degree is preferred with experience of Project management advantageous but your knowledge could also be from other degree disciplines so long as you can demonstrate your technical understanding.
We’ll need you to demonstrate your passion for working in a fast-paced environment and desire to deliver projects that directly impact business operations on a global level. As you’ll spend the second year of the program overseas, we’ll also need you to be globally mobile so additional language capabilities would be a bonus.
