The Jr. Business Intelligence Analyst is core to the success and growth of Business Intelligence at Dyson, driving adoption of BI reporting and helping get the most from our data. They will engage and consult with internal business stakeholders, providing support & guidance on maximizing the value from BI tools.

Market Overview

Dyson landed in the US in 2002 and within 24 months our technology was market share leader. Our bustling HQ is based in the historic Montgomery Ward Building, overlooking the Chicago River. Just west of the city in Aurora, our dedicated US Customer Care team now numbers 160 people. And in total, there are over 600 Dyson people working across the US in multiple functions.

But Dyson US is still growing. It’s poised to double its footprint and take on new categories. Already a target for our competitors, challenging times are ahead. And our battle-hungry US team are truly fired up.

Function Overview

Our IT teams manage the technology that makes what we do possible. They support and maintain tools that allow Dyson to operate on an international scale. They build the backbone of our global digital channels. They protect Dyson secrets through cutting edge digital security measures. And they bring all of this, and more, together. Seamlessly.   • Represent BI team, often as first point of contact, ensuring BI users/stakeholders have relevant access to BI tools/environments and understand how to use them
  • Work with business leads to ensure we’re capturing the right data upfront to ensure consistency across sources to facilitate correlation and a holistic view in reporting
  • Explore user needs, recommend BI solutions and arrange appropriate access
  • Liaise with other IT functions to coordinate master data changes
  • Respond in a timely manner to queries and faults, investigating and answering with clarity
  • Ensure processes that underpin above support activities are effective and clearly defined/documented
  • Deliver training to end users centered around how to access, consume and utilize BI reporting
  • Encourage BI best practice through drop-in sessions and troubleshooting
  • Maintain business knowledge to be able to understand and explain context of BI reports
  • Promote the use of BI solutions throughout the business, driving adoption and growth in user base



  • Minimum of 1 year of professional experience in a business intelligence role
  • Hands on experience in at BI reporting tools including Business Objects, Tableau, and/or Microsoft BI
  • SAP BW or Data Warehouse development experience and/or exposure to ETL processes is plus
  • Ability to gather business requirements and translate them into technical solutions
  • Knowledge of common processes and practices used by BI teams
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, or a related field of study is required
  • Experience in financial, sales, and marketing industries are preferred
  • Agile methodology experience is a plus
