APC - The advanced product creation team is where we innovate, create and deliver future products to grow the mobility category at Dyson.
APC engineers are expected to initiate new product concepts and ideas and identify market opportunities from a blank sheet of paper.

Market Overview:

Malmesbury is tucked away in countryside famous for the landmarks of Isambard Brunel, who revolutionised modern engineering. A charming Wiltshire market town doesn’t sound like the place to develop world leading technology, but it’s just right for us. Our secluded location helps us to protect our ideas and stay independent–minded.

As part of the £2.5 billion investment, Dyson acquired a 650 acre plot in Hullavington. This former Royal Air Force base, just five miles from Dyson HQ, will increase our UK footprint tenfold. We’ll be turning old hangars into futuristic labs and workspaces – creating a campus to rival those in Silicon Valley.

Function Overview:

We’ve begun work on a battery electric vehicle – that’s no secret. It has remained our ambition to solve the worldwide problem of air pollution for nearly 30 years. Now that we have the ability to bring all our technologies together into a single product, we’re able to solve this problem at the source. For now, it’s all about finding the right people to make it all happen for 2020.


Apply new technology and features that improve Dyson automotive products
Work on multiple concepts  in parallel and manage programme timing targets
Work with various engineering teams to ensure that product requirements are being met
Work with internal and external research teams to develop technology roadmaps that support future products and feature upgrades
Prototyping and demonstration: You will be able to bring your ideas and designs to life through sketching, illustration, 3D modelling, and prototype builds


A degree in Mechanical engineering
Proficient CAD user (NX) who can quickly manipulate geometry and gereate concept level designs
Experience of working with electromechanical systems
CAE methods understanding and FEA optimisation teqniques
Knowledge of electric powertrains and energy storage would be advantageous

Excellent MS office skills, powepoint and excel required

An innovative problem solver that delivers efficient design solutions

Self-directed – ability to work indepently and outside of your comfort zone

Hands on build philosophy, you will be expected to prove ideas through physical prototypes (RP, CNC, Machined and fabricated parts)

Passionate about new technology and working in a fast paced environmentA great collaborator with the knowledge to work cross functionally across vehicle engineering

Knowledge of energy storage integration
