As a Middleweight Creative for the EU and MEA markets you'll be crucial to ensuring the quality of the creative thinking and output to defend Dyson's reputation. You’ll be working closely with other creatives, copywriters, product managers and marketing experts. And you’ll be involved in projects of all shapes and sizes. Along the way, you’ll learn from your mistakes and persevere through the seemingly impossible.
Home to our global Research, Design and Development centre and all of our Commercial functions, Dyson HQ is tucked away in countryside famous for the railway tunnels and bridges of Isambard Brunel, who revolutionised modern engineering. Our secluded location helps us to protect our ideas and stay independent-minded. Yet nearby are the fashionable cities of Bristol and Bath (where a young James Dyson invented cyclone technology).
The building is the heartbeat of Dyson. Over 1,500 people, including James himself, spend their days strategizing, inventing technology and telling the Dyson story to the world. From 2016, our HQ began doubling its footprint with an ambitious new expansion.
The Creative Hub is EU (Europe) and MEA (Middle East and Africa) markets own internal creative team. The department has a range of roles within it, including creative, studio, traffic and account management. We create the marketing and advertising which brings Dyson products to life. We manage the execution for all the new products, a raft of through-the-line communications and trade facing materials. It’s a small but very busy department.
As a Middleweight Creative you’ll be working with markets and brief owners to scope, shape, develop and define creative briefs for the projects that come into your area. It is essential to understand the Dyson reputation, the tone, values and its shifts in global markets. You'll also be responsible for marking up and prepping work to be briefed into third party supports. This could be external agencies, internal production or other members of the team. Ensure all work is clearly communicated with instructions and information.
You'll be experienced in design layout, composition and a good understanding of typography. You'll be able to demonstrate a strong aptitude for content generation. You'll have the ability to order content, distilling and presenting clear information hierarchy, and how communication messaging is flexed and nuanced across different media.
An understanding of design production and how campaign work is physically produced in print, digital and 3d media is strongly preferred. It is essential that the middleweight creative is able to confidently and intelligently present their work to stakeholders throughout Dyson including senior team members. They should be able to defend their proposals with well-founded solid arguments.
