The PLM Application Engineer is required to develop, configure & deliver the existing Teamcenter & Active Workspace toolsets used within Dyson, as well as additional applications & capability as these expand.

Function Overview

With innovative products like Cord free Vacuum Cleaners, Hair Dryers and the Electric Vehicle project; Dyson is growing rapidly and our IT PLM teams manage the technology that makes what we do possible. The number of people using Teamcenter in Dyson is growing, with approximately 2800 global Teamcenter users. Along with this, the growth of the application suite that is covered within the IT PLM Team is continually expanding. (e.g. ECAD & Software Development)


You will be involved in the development of configuration changes, such as data model, workflow & UI, in line with assigned system Change Requests and Projects. Working closely with other members of the immediate and extended PLM team (e.g. PLM Specialists), to develop & prototype solutions for review with the solution owner (e.g. PLM Specialists, Solution Architect, PLM Reporting Lead)

Ensure all configuration, testing, communication plans and documentation required is in place prior to releasing approved changes to production & training environments globally. 

You will be involved in the building and delivery of application environments (production, QA, sandbox and training) for Teamcenter, Teamcenter Reporting & Analytics, Active Workspace plus any additional applications in the future.

You will be involved in the deployment & delivery of configuration changes into production & training environments, ensuring effective configuration management of the applications & systems.

Ensure thorough testing of proposed configuration changes are performed and documented to an appropriate level, both from a system and end user perspective.

You will be dynamic and self-motivated with a desire to produce the best technical solution possible. It is essential that you show a strong work ethic, an ability to learn quickly and be flexible in the tasks and activities undertaken.


We are looking for someone with a technical hands on background with Siemens Teamcenter and experience in configuring Teamcenter applications for example Workflow design / BMIDE configuration / Stylesheet configuration. It would be advantageous if you have experience or knowledge of other Teamcenter applications such as Classification / Multi-site / Query Builder / Preference Management. The candidate should be able to translate business requirements into functional and technical requirements.
