The Purchase Order Specialist is a key role within the Financial Centre of Excellence (FCoE). This role is responsible for driving global best practice, safeguarding financials and enabling commercial success through optimising Dyson non stock purchase order processes and compliance.

Function Overview

Our Financial Accounting function provides the foundation for Dyson’s global commercial success. Creating and monitoring a framework of systems, processes and reporting that defines how we operate financially. The team forms a vital backbone of Dyson – encompassing our inventory, accounts payable and receivable, planning and analysis, and statutory reporting and consolidation. Delivering rapid performance insights and forecasting to help us stay ahead of the competition. And, in an organisation that doesn’t stand still, the team’s work is a growing challenge of ever-evolving numbers.

Accountabilities

  • Harmonising purchase order processes, controls, and delivering best practise across global Dyson offices.
  • Producing and sustaining best practise training materials and providing training to key individuals and markets where required.
  • Reporting on businesses performance regarding purchase requisitions and goods receipting compliance, including proposing and managing remediation efforts as required.
  • Produce compliance reporting packs for senior management reviews.
  • Assist in developing and driving the best practice processes for requisitions and spend types e.g. services, blanket orders, installment payments.
  • Working with global business units to manage and resolve queries, and proactively ensuring that these are not repeated through education or system changes.
  • Work with IT and cross functional teams to identify and drive systemic purchasing controls and improvements.
  • Provide support for the change management and communication plan to those in the organization that should be responsible, accountable, consulted or informed as changes are planned in the purchase order process.
  • Supporting continuous business growth by ensuring all are aware of responsibilities, accountability, and sufficiently trained in purchasing processes.
  • This role will involve some aspects of overseas travel where required.

Skills

  • Strong knowledge of the requisition to receipt processes, SAP preferred but not essential
  • Excellent communication skills, incl. training.
  • Strong IT skills – Microsoft & SAP
  • Proactive approach with great problem solving skills.
  • Highly Motivated to achieve results
  • Team player
  • Language capabilities would be desirable but not essential
