Provide leadership, guidance and training to Payroll Operations team. Work closely with the Payroll team to ensure payrolls are processed timely and accurately through the use of best practices.
Responsible for ongoing development of controls surrounding payroll processes.
Serve as lead for regional payroll strategies, opportunities and guiding principles.
Gate keeper for all enhancements, regulatory changes and routine maintenance activities
Ensure compliance with all tax regulations and company policies
Manage payroll software platforms and drive optimal utilization of technology,
Provide leadership, oversight and support for all audit activities in scope for the SEA Region
Research, troubleshoot and respond to a wide range of inquiry/escalations related to payroll and time attendance ensuring best in class customer service is delivered to SEA employees
Ensure that appropriate posting to the general ledger and payroll transactions are in compliance
Develop and maintain payroll guidelines by writing and updating policies and procedures or managing efforts by team to accomplish same
Monitor Metrics ensuring proper actions are taken as necessary to address failures with proper root cause analysis and corrective actions
Ensure positive collaborative relationships with key business partners in HR, Legal, Tax and IT
Facilitate year-end activities related to payroll ensuring proper financial reporting as well as employee and governmental reporting accuracy and timeliness
Good knowledge on project management
Good knowledge on expatriate hypothetical tax and work closing with external consultant.
Bachelor's degree and 10+ years of Payroll experience and/or related experience
7-15 years of direct payroll processing experience which includes 3-5 years experience being directly responsible for the management of payroll function
Experience processing multi-location and international payrolls ( Malaysia, Singapore and Philippines)
Experience or exposure to international payroll processing and global payroll strategy
Strong SAP and Orisoft (unifiedPay) skills and background is preferred
Experience with in-house, as well as, outsourced payroll models
Experience with ex-pat payroll processing
Ability to understand and deal with global and regional issues
Strong attention to detail, critical thinking and computer skills, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities
Ability to lead and collaborate with cross-functional management without formal reporting relationships
