To develop process and analysis methods for manufacturing of solid state battery materials including the integration of new tools, controls, facilities, and characterization protocols. Support operating, maintaining, and designing and executing revisions to vacuum deposition tools and sources for solid state battery manufacturing process.

Function Overview

Dyson has acquired 100% of solid-state battery pioneer Sakti3. Together they will supercharge research and development into the new battery platform, to engineer breakthroughs in performance for future Dyson technologies.


  • Process development and analysis of the prototype batteries and materials
  • Develop and execute new processes and tools for production of materials
  • Analyze statistical data using preexisting tools and software for continuous process improvement
  • Report to the management team on materials produced, including collaborative work to troubleshoot and root cause production issues
  • Ensure a safe and efficient working environment for all technical staffs and employees and visitors and ensuring that safety is diligently considered and embedded into the end battery technology and design
  • Scalable process development and prototype tools
  • Develop new process methods and tools for scalable process and production
  • Generate design specifications and drawings for scalable method and tools
  • Conduct design of experiment to test and improve the new process methods and devices
  • Write the standard operating procedures for the new process methods
  • Identify root causes of process and material failures and make recommendations to resolve issues
  • Fulfill other duties as required
  • Document process specifications and operation/maintenance log
  • Train prototyping and production personnel as needed
  • Handle vendor relationships related to the process, analysis tools and materials
  • Travel as needed, including to Dyson locations worldwide


  • 5 years’ experience working on process technology and/or materials science and engineering
  • Bachelor’s degree in science and engineering, or related discipline
  • Demonstrates a ‘can do’ / entrepreneurial attitude
