Market Overview

In 2000, Dyson moved production from Malmesbury to Malaysia to be closer to our supply chains and open up international growth. The small team of 10 has now grown to almost 1,200 – forming Dyson’s second biggest global hub. Located in the exhilarating industrial heart of Johor, it’s also home to RDD, IT, operations,  finance, creative and HR.

The RDD facility is central to our plans to launch 100 new machines in the next four years. To meet these ambitions, we recently expanded the site to 30,000m², with 50 advanced technology labs and 700 new engineers. In the Dyson world, there’s no more exciting place to be.

Function Overview

Dyson Operations ensure every market has full product availability – requiring meticulous strategic planning. Working with Dyson HQ, global markets, manufacturers and logistics providers, the team coordinates launch timetables, sales forecasts and stock-flow around the world. Every day brings new challenges. A country’s exchange rate can suddenly affect demand. Strikes, delays, legal challenges all have an impact. It makes the team one of the most dynamic in the business. And with more direct sales planned to drive growth, meeting complex customer demands has become another exciting challenge.

Accountabilities

The Role:

 

  • The Business System Development, Operations team helps & supports the Global Manufacturing team by identifying and leading process improvements projects.
  • As a Project Lead, will lead the team and be asked to propose, create and update innovative solutions to help the various initiatives.
  • Project Lead will need to be proactive, innovative and professional and will be based in Malaysia but may liaise with Singapore and overseas office.

  • Business Intelligence: Create the right tools, reports and KPIs to help the Operations Team work better and in a more efficient way

  • Develops reasonable performance standards and ways of evaluating outcome quality.

Skills

  • Project Management Tools: JIRA/Tableau /Microsoft access.
  • Master’s Degree in Supply Chain, Operations Management, Business or other related field of study.
  • <10 years’ experience in Operations & Supply Chain Management & Business Intelligence Role with 10 years in key leadership roles.
