The main purpose of this role is the generation and clean-up of SLA prototype parts required for technology research and products.

Home to our global Research, Design and Development centre and all of our Commercial functions, Dyson HQ is tucked away in countryside famous for the railway tunnels and bridges of Isambard Brunel, who revolutionised modern engineering. Function Overview

It’s one thing to solve a problem that’ll change technology forever. But turning that idea into a reality takes solving many more problems – and success is ultimately measured, not by the thinking, but by the product. Our Manufacturing department supports over 1,000 Dyson engineers worldwide turning ideas into ground-breaking technology. Involved early in the design, we identify materials, pre-empt production issues and find ways to build more efficiently. Yet robustly. From designing the machines, to the machines that build the machines, we’re helping to shape the future of technology.


  • Primary responsibility - Hand finishing of SLA prototypes.
  • The main purpose of this role will be to support the SLA Department with finishing of prototype parts.
  • With the use of model making equipment to finish SLA prototype parts to a high quality and lead with preparing cutaway models.
  • To be a proactive member of the Product Prototyping Team and who offers practical ideas and solutions.
  • Key Dyson behaviours required include: Ingenious, getting the right answer by thinking hard and Fighter, getting the best result.


Personal Skills:

  • Qualified Model Maker
  • Experience with Additive Manufacturing Process
  • PC skills, Excel, CAD
  • Good workshop practices/Ability to make one off prototypes
  • Engineering drawing – reading/interpretations (not essential)
  • Accuracy
  • Ability to use initiative and work pro-actively
  • Planning and organisation skills
  • Ability to work unsupervised
