Home to our global Research, Design and Development centre and all of our Commercial functions, Dyson HQ is tucked away in countryside famous for the railway tunnels and bridges of Isambard Brunel, who revolutionised modern engineering. Our secluded location helps us to protect our ideas and stay independent-minded. Yet nearby are the fashionable cities of Bristol and Bath (where a young James Dyson invented cyclone technology).

The building is the heartbeat of Dyson. Over 2,000 people, including James himself, spend their days strategizing, inventing technology and telling the Dyson story to the world. From 2016, our HQ will begin doubling its footprint with an ambitious new expansion.

Working closely with our engineers, our marketeers develop powerful claims through scientific research. And from traditional channels to cutting-edge events, retail experiences, social media and PR, we seize every chance to tell the Dyson story.

Accountabilities

As the Project Manager you will be responsible for planning and resourcing all NPD (new product development) retail projects in line with the master timelines. You'll drive the whole 2D retail project from initial concept through to manufacture, delivery and installation. You'll be the centre of each project and this will involve you:
  • Building senior and project stakeholder relationships, and delivering accurate status reports.
  • Take responsibility for the project budget, keep all internal contributing teams on track with budget and timelines.
  • Assess impact and risks of any challenge on timelines, providing mitigation plans where necessary.


You will report into the Director for Planning and Operations, who reports directly to the Chief Commercial Officer.

Skills

You'll have great experience as a Project Manager within retail. Having managed internal budgets and obtaining quotes from external suppliers, you'll have demonstrated the ability to navigate projects from cradle to grave. You'll be used to keeping all project teams on track to deliver against agreed timelines and updating senior stakeholders on the project. You'll have experienced challenging times within a project and been able to create plans to mitigate the impact on the business.
