Demonstration lies at the heart of this Retail role, which looks at driving Dyson growth in both assisted and unassisted environments.

This is achieved by improving the shopper experience; increasing consideration to purchase and converting the shopper.

Market Overview

Home to our global Research, Design and Development centre and all of our Commercial functions, Dyson HQ is tucked away in countryside famous for the railway tunnels and bridges of Isambard Brunel, who revolutionised modern engineering. Our secluded location helps us to protect our ideas and stay independent-minded. Yet nearby are the fashionable cities of Bristol and Bath (where a young James Dyson invented cyclone technology).

Function Overview

Armed with scientifically-proven product superiority and precision-engineered technology, our retail team have plenty to work with. They develop global retail strategy, bespoke displays for trusted retailers and global launch campaigns for new technology. They're multitasking generalists – skilled at managing communications through words, image and 3D design as well pioneering new strategies to make Dyson’s technology shine above the competition.

Accountabilities

Working with multiple stakeholders across the business, including commercial managers and engineers, you will design a kit to define the in-store demonstration experience for existing and new products.

You will work with creative teams to storyboard multi-media content (i.e, iPad, in-store screens) to increase product engagement and with the PR team to come up with compelling demos that will wow journalists.

You will share new sales approaches and techniques with the markets to ensure our experts can demo our products in a fun, engaging and informative way and most importantly, close the sale.

Skills

  • Extensive retail training experience

  • An understanding of visual merchandising for luxury or technical consumer goods

  • Proven ability to develop training tools and sales techniques

  • Strong communication and presentation skills

  • Excellent time and project management

  • Store concept development and fixture development

  • Evidence of having driven measurable sales results in a retail environment through the application and implementation of the above listed skill

  • Regular travel will be involved
