A Dyson Sales Manager- Service will be a highly motivated and experienced professional who will enhance the quality of sales.  This will be a self-directed individual, with a clear vision of a sales culture, and the ability to execute.  The position is located at Dyson’s.  This position reports to the National Director for Technical Service and provides support to other key stakeholders in the business to increase revenue, knowledge, and overall sales effectiveness.

Market Overview

Dyson landed in the US in 2002 and within 24 months our technology was market share leader. Our bustling HQ is based in the historic Montgomery Ward Building, overlooking the Chicago River. A few hours down the road in Aurora, our dedicated US Customer Care team now numbers 250 people. And in total, there are over 600 Dyson people working across the US in multiple functions.


But Dyson US is still growing. It’s poised to double its footprint and take on new categories. Already a target for our competitors, challenging times are ahead. And our battle-hungry US team are truly fired up.

Function Overview

Our Customer Service team epitomises Dyson’s problem-solving ethos. There’s no query our Ask Dyson teams can’t answer. And there’s no fault our Field Service engineers can’t fix.

From letters and emails, to calls, online and social media, our team is constantly evolving to give better service.


Main Accountabilities and Supporting Activities:

Drive the iconic sales culture

  • Facilitate instructor led sales training and sales coaching to increase productivity

  • Deliver programs and coaching that directly and measurably improves sales techniques, product knowledge, and conversion rates

  • Provides workshops and materials that enhance sales skills, the customer experience, and product knowledge

  • Lead Service team efforts including towards KPI’s of Gross margin, chargeable service and finished good units sold

  • Lead an effective adult learning environment, demonstrates confident and engaging presentation skills and sales management techniques leading to desired outcomes

  • Initiate and manage sales contests, performance ranking, sales reporting, and recognition programs

  • Further develop  and lead bulk/commercial national sales program from DSC’s leveraging local service support as a competitive advantage


Collaborate with business partners

  • Enlist and influence service team to support sales initiatives and to become engaged in the selling process

  • Collaborates with internal business partners, supervisors, and key contacts to ensure training and coaching meets business needs

  • Proactively engages with business manager’s to maintain relationships and identify needs

  • Create coaching plans for Tech Services team.

  • Assist National Director with ESSCO parts sales opportunities.

  • Work with Sonwil team on the refurbishment process and modular breakdowns.


Fulfil other duties as required

  • Provides updates to management regarding sales coaching and training progress and performance

  • Balance multiple projects while managing daily sales initiatives, recognition, and sales coaching

  • Follow-up with supervisors and representatives to ensure sales targets are being met

  • Balance an iconic customer experience with an iconic sales environment

  • Oversee social media sites to ensure iconic service is met.

  • Work closely with Marketing to complete sales driving initiatives, in store material and promotions for DSCs

  • Assist National Director with any projects needed.

  • Work with team to drive bulk order sales for both new and refurbished models

  • Partner with Account Manager for Direct with sales driving opportunities



Financial Reporting


  • Review daily sales numbers to ensure goals are being met and report nightly.

  • Partner with RSMs to ensure teams meet budgeted goals on a weekly, monthly and annual basis.

  • Manage and review discounts daily to achieve a higher ASP and maintain the brand value.

Partner with finance and planning to ensure new product launches are smooth and on time.


Individual Qualifications:

·         Minimum 3 years experience as a sales coach or similar capacity

·         Three years sales experience in a service environment experience

·         High School diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree preferred

·         Ability to understand the Dyson brand and uphold its integrity

·         High level of customer service and sales orientation required

·         Ability to work with other departments, build a plan of action, and execute

·         Influence supervisors and representatives to reach and exceed sales targets

·         Work a flexible schedule – which may include evenings and weekends

·         Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 30lbs

·         Bilingual skills a plus
