This role will be focused on building a “centre of excellence” style security program at the Hullavington Airfield site, building in Security By Design principles with all stakeholders as it develops into a 2nd major campus.

Market Overview

The Hullavington Site Security Manager reports through to the UK Security Operations Manager position who is geographically positioned at the Malmesbury Security Centre of Excellence. The UK Security Operations Manager reports through to the Regional Head of Security, UK. They are all part of Dyson Group Security.

Function Overview

Dyson Group Security has the responsibility for delivering security best practice across the company. This is a new role with the remit to develop and execute operational security best practice on the recently acquired UK campus at Hullavington Airfield in Wiltshire.

Accountabilities

The Site Security Manager will be responsible for the management of all aspects of physical security of the Hullavington estate including security by environmental design and effective process development for both security officer resources and security systems i.e. CCTV, Access Control and other systems.

It will require a leading-edge thought process commensurate with Dyson as a global technology company along with the technical ability to execute.

The role will require the ability to demonstrate detailed operational performance measurements, aligned with all business interests on site; as well as a remit to design, deliver and implement site specific procedures within the Group Security, Security Management System (SeMS) Framework. The role will provide cross functional / cross platform support and escalation for complex security solutions, troubleshooting issues across infrastructure and applications to ensure efficient incident resolution and remediation.

Key accountabilities:
  • Delegated, overall, site security responsibility on behalf of Group Director of Security and the Dyson Family Office as the Hullavington Campus Landlord.
  • Execution of a business-integrated security solution for the high-end, RDD facility tenant.
  • With security leadership guidance, development and stand-up of the Global Security Operations Centre (GSOC), including space design, operational equipment requirement, staffing and procedures.
  • Effective leadership and management of the security officer resources through the further development and execution of SOPs, performance measurement techniques and training.
  • Capture of monthly reporting on KPIs, loss prevention and detection. Further development and maintenance of a site database on which to demonstrate performance review and ROI. Effective management of incident reporting in line with the leadership requirement.
  • Threat led decision making and maintenance of the threat awareness levels. Development of a site risk profile and operating level.
  • That an integrated site technical security strategy is executed in consultation with the multiple stakeholders and Group Technical Security Team.
  • Active participation in local security working groups
  • Provision of security leadership and guidance to Reception and Front of House staff during planning and implementation of special events, functions and VIP visits
  • Group Security remits are supported, including a proactive and visible role in security awareness programs; security on-boarding and induction processes.
  • Playing a proactive role on the incident management team and development of future crisis management procedures.
  • Develop an effective partnership with Malmesbury Real Estate, Facilities and HSE.

Service monitoring:
  • Further development and implementation of security officer KPIs
  • Development and implementation of weekly site audits in order to ensure an ISO 31000 security minimum standard is maintained
  • Review and make recommendations to maintain/improve security systems, maintaining accurate records and drawings as required.

Administration:
  • Working to company guidelines and standard procedures:
  • Operate and maintain effective record keeping and administrative service.
  • Record and monitor all costs and expenses for all security budget lines.
  • Provide reporting on Security performance or incident occurrence incl. financial impacts.

Skills

  • Extensive experience (at least 5 years minimum) in a physical security, site leadership role.
  • Appropriate qualification in a security related subject or computer science, information systems, technical engineering, or business administration. Alternative demonstrable experience. CISSP qualification preferred.  
  • Experience in airfield security concepts, preferred.
  • Experience with security control room practices, preferred.
  • Deep knowledge of industry best practice relating to technical security solutions strategy, design and implementation. Experience in delivering technical security solutions on a national scale.
  • Strong computer skills with competency in Microsoft Office applications and database packages; the ability to transform complex subjects and data into manageable bites for senior leadership through PowerPoint or Excel
  • Strong background in Management of security service delivery within an equivalent organisation.
  • Good attention to detail and ability to prioritise workload in a fast changing environment.
  • Working knowledge of General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR)
  • Understanding of and experience of working to national and international security standards i.e. BS 16000:2015, CCTV Code of Practice, etc.
  • Budget management experience
  • Experience within corporate environments, preferably in an engineering industry.
  • Extensive project management experience
