The Senior Business Analyst supports the business to deliver insights and actionable analysis that drive profitable decision making.

Function Overview:

At any one time, Dyson are working on a wide variety of different projects. To assist the thousands of technicians, scientists, engineers, and analysts worldwide, we provide up-to-date dashboards and KPIs which aim to facilitate data-driven decisions. We engage with key business stakeholders directly, relentlessly improving our reporting portfolio and data model.

Accountabilities:


As the Senior Business Analyst you will have 7 main functions: 
  1. Consult with business partners to create relevant and meaningful outputs that enable data sharing and aid decision making
  2. Enable regular data sharing of key metrics across the business
  3. Manage product output roadmap for designated areas of remit
  4. Effectively communicate complex concepts to business partners
  5. Use creativity along with common data science modeling concepts
  6. Maintain relationship with Global data team
  7. Partner with team members to bring to life – visualize and tell story
Specifically you will be responsible for the following
  • Consult with business partners to create relevant and meaningful outputs that enable data sharing and aid decision making
    • Partner with Sales, Marketing and Finance teams to answer key questions in relation to the respective business units
    • Prepare regular and ad hoc analysis using KPIs to support business objectives
    • Use visualization tools to share and communicate updates and key learnings
    • Continually look for insights and signals within the data and translate to the business
  • Support planning and decision-making with a focus on the effectiveness of investments
    • Bring together financials, non-financial metrics as well as external data
    • Effectively communicate complex concepts used in analyses and provide actionable insights and recommendations for future investment opportunities
    • Summarize and present findings to business partners
    • Seek opportunities to apply data science techniques that will enable better, quicker decision making in the business
  • Manage product output roadmap for designated areas of remit
    • Provide input in the project prioritization process
    • Responsible for managing assigned projects, driving creative solutions, and ensuring all key deliverables are met
  • Special projects and ad hoc analysis as needed
    • Relish the opportunity to pick up new activities that fall broadly in the purpose of the role
    • Make improvements and efficiencies to existing processes
    • Identify problems and find solutions

Skills:

This is what we need you to have:

  • A demonstrable demonstrated competence in mathematics and analytics with experience working in a highly analytical role and a bachelor’s degree completed
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills gained
  • Experience fully managing projects from start to finish with little direction
  • Prior experience working with a Sales and Marketing organization, while partnering with Finance teams
  • Ability to clearly communicate and present statistical analysis along with data visualization
  • Experience using data visualization software such as Tableau, Google Data Studio, Looker, R-Shiny
  • Advanced MS Excel and PowerPoint is required
  • Working knowledge of statistics and common machine learning algorithms (Decision Trees/Random Forrest, XGboost, Clustering, Naïve Bayes, etc.), programming languages (such as Python or Ruby), and statistical programming languages (such as R or Python, scikit-learn, TensorFlow)
  • Intellectually curious, relish the opportunities to pick up new activities, make improvements and efficiencies to existing processes, and identify problems and find solutions
 

It would be helpful if you also had some of these:

  • Experience with Retail analytics
  • Experience using cloud computing platforms, such as Google Cloud or AWS
