Working within Indirect Procurement and part of the Global Supply Chain team, the Procurement Buyer will work with the rest of the team to provide procurement support from a wide range of internal customers

Function Overview

Procurement at Dyson plays a vital role in strategic decision making. Ultimately it affects the very design of our machines and the growth ambitions of the business. In the balance between quality and price, quality must always win. So our global team needs to be rigorous in selection. Meticulous in determining standards, researching suppliers, analysing value and negotiating contracts. Challenging and diverse, their work creates a dynamic, driven team. Where the ‘next big thing’ relies on their ability to deliver agile, lean solutions as much as the inventiveness of Dyson engineers’ themselves.


  • Work with internal customers to develop their requirements

  • Work with Dyson legal to obtain and issue NDAs where appropriate

  • Prepare and issue Tender documents

  • Attend supplier meetings

  • Research and evaluate and recommend  areas of opportunity and reduce costs where possible

  • Deliver briefs, updates and reports as and when required

  • Summarise tenders and complete adjudication summaries

  • Negotiate contracts, improved prices and terms of business with suppliers and review opportunities to make business saving s utilising negotiation an procurement best practice tools and methods

  • Ensure compliance to company guidelines, purchasing  policies and procedures, guidance during supplier negotiations and contracts award process


  • Experience working within procurement (MCIPS qualified or working towards)

  • Results orientated and resilient, self-motivated with the ability to deliver under pressure and to tight timelines against project deadlines

  • Highly skilled at building and maintaining effective and productive relationships

  • Analytical, numerically astute with strong proven problem solving abilities

  • A proactive approach and forward thinking.

  • Assertiveness and influencing skills

  • Integrity and confidence under pressure – always presenting the facts no matter what the circumstances
