The Business System Development team supports the Global Manufacturing organisation by identifying and leading system transformation projects as well as providing critical business insights using advanced analytics solutions. The team has the following focus areas:

•Information management: Effective management and organisation of the information being channelled through our systems drives understanding, consistency, visibility and reliability which is essential in a business growing in complexity

•Operation Transformation: New insights most often will need to be complemented with updated Systems and Processes. This transformation activity will enable operations to work more efficiently and improve operational effectiveness

•Data-driven business insights: empower decision makers with data analytics using advanced analytics technics such as deep learning, regression solutions or correlations studies and visualisation tools to easily communicate ideas and results

This new Technology Centre houses some of Dyson’s most advanced facilities including Robotics and Sensors laboratories and Smart Home, Connectivity & Mobile Applications laboratories as well as an Advanced Control Tower with the latest technology to develop its analytics-driven activities.

Function Overview

This is a new role being created in the organisation. As a Senior Data Manager, you will be responsible to lead the implementation of a master data management practice to support SAP Ariba solution implementation. You will have a strong understanding of databases and data analysis procedures. You will also be tech-savvy and possess excellent troubleshooting skills. In this role, you will monitor and analyse information and data systems and evaluate their performance to discover ways of enhancing them (new technologies, upgrades etc.). You will create and enforce policies for effective data management. You will formulate management techniques for quality data collection to ensure adequacy, accuracy and legitimacy of data. You will develop and implement efficient and secure procedures for data management and analysis with attention to all technical aspects You should possess strong leadership and communication abilities to influence key stakeholders and clients you will interface with. This role is based in Singapore but will most likely require some travel to our manufacturing locations and offices (Malaysia / Philippines / UK).

Accountabilities

Identify business requirements

•Primarily work with the procurement and IT teams to identify master data management requirements Design processes

•Design and implement efficient and secure procedures for data management and analysis with attention to all technical aspects

•Create and enforce policies for effective data management

•Establish rules and procedures for data sharing with upper management, external stakeholders etc.

Data management

•Formulate techniques for quality data collection to ensure adequacy, accuracy and legitimacy of data

•Troubleshoot data-related problems and authorize maintenance or modifications

•Maintain a full audit trail of data changes

•Guide synchronization of information management between systems

•Support the implementation of new information designs into systems Data adherence

•Define data adherence and customer service metrics

•Put in place systems for auditing and reporting those metrics

•Monitor and report performance against KPIs

•Perform detailed data validation and accuracy checks

•Actively drive the resolution of issues Improvements

•Find ways to simplify and make systems more efficient

•Provide a professional, responsive and helpful service to internal customers

Support

•Support others in the daily use of data systems and ensure adherence to legal and company standards

•Assist with reports and data extraction when needed

•Provide problem solving support, advice and guidance to internal customers

•Make use of data analytics to answer key business questions by providing both qualitative and quantitative analysis on request

•Support the development of the team for hard and soft skills


Skills

Qualifications

• BSc/BA in computer science or relevant field

• Proven experience as data manager

Demonstrated skills and use of tools in the following areas

• Team management experience

• Excellent understanding of data administration and management functions (collection, analysis, distribution etc.)

• Familiarity with modern database and information system technologies

• Well-developed problem solving skills

• High levels of attention to detail and accuracy

• Organised and methodical.

Applies and enforces agreed standards and ways of working

• Displays a clear passion for the discipline of master data management

• Works to high standards

• Inquisitive and thorough in approach

• Thirst to learn about new areas and develop new areas of expertise
