Description and Requirements

Reporting to the Facilities Manager and a member of the wider facilities team, the Senior Facilities Engineer ensures reliability of the manufacturing plant's building and equipment function to optimal operating and performance level.

At the beginning of 2017 we opened our new, state of the art, Singapore Technology Centre in Science Park I, minutes from Singapore’s technology and start-up community. This new Technology Centre houses some of Dyson’s most advanced facilities including Robotics and Sensors laboratories and Smart Home, Connectivity & Mobile Applications laboratories as well as an Advanced Control Tower with the latest technology to develop its analytics-driven activities.

Not too far away is West Park, our flagship advanced motor manufacturing facility where we develop our autonomous robotic manufacturing capabilities – more than 300 robots assemble our Dyson Digital Motor (DDM) here. It is here that we develop our next generation of motor technology.

Function Overview:

Facilities are under the umbrella of Property department that supports various functions ensuring Manufacturing and offices operate smoothly and play an active role in space extensions and renovations, as well as strategic functions like to achieve operational excellence and people development.

Accountabilities:

What you will do...

  • Ensure the reliability of the manufacturing plant’s building and equipment to optimal operating and performance level.
  • Perform trouble shooting of more complex technical issues.
  • Manage facilities projects related to electrical and control – specify design criteria, review design submissions and perform QA / QC checks during construction and installation.
  • Update standard operating procedures to ensure compliance to regulatory/authority codes, ISO, Insurer and Dyson’s protocols.
  • Support strategic planning on space and building plant equipment capacities, and make recommendations.
  • Responsible for property / facilities related procurement, license / permit renewal, and end-users’ work requests pertaining to electrical and control.
  • Support people training and development.
  • Assist the site’s Facilities Manager in daily work responsibilities.

Skills:

What you should possess..

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Professional certificate in Facilities Management/Engineering (preferred).
  • At least 15 years of working experience managing manufacturing plant facilities.
  • Minimum 10 years of working experience in a Consumer Electronics or related Manufacturing environment.
  • Highly proficient in systematic problem solving techniques, like FMEA, SPC, Corrective Action and maintenance program, including predictive maintenance.
  • Experience in big green-field projects. Familiar in design specifications / reviews, PLC and instrumentations.
  • Familiar with construction rates of materials, skilled labor and installation methods.
  • Familiar with Local Code of Practices, especially on Safety, Health and Environment.
  • Good knowledge in Facilities equipment.
