We are looking for a high caliber experienced senior financial analyst/senior accountant with strong manufacturing background to join our Singapore Advanced Manufacturing site. This role will be business partnering with Production, Procurement and RDD to drive efficiency and lower cost; be responsible for DDM CAPEX and understand the impact on part cost. Market Overview

Our Singapore story began in 2004 and today we have more than 1000 people working here. Singapore Advanced Manufacturing Centre, located in West Singapore is our flagship advanced motor manufacturing facility where we develop our autonomous robotic manufacturing capabilities – more than 300 robots assemble our Dyson Digital Motor (DDM) here. It is here that we develop our next generation of motor technology.     

                     

Not too far away is the state of the art, Singapore Technology Centre in Science Park I, minutes from Singapore’s technology and start-up community. This new Technology Centre houses some of Dyson’s most advanced facilities including Robotics and Sensors laboratories and Smart Home, Connectivity & Mobile Applications laboratories as well as an Advanced Control Tower with the latest technology to develop its analytics-driven activities.

Function Overview

Our Finance function provides the foundation for Dyson’s global commercial success. Creating and monitoring a framework of systems, processes and reporting that defines how we operate financially. The team forms a vital backbone of Dyson – encompassing our inventory, accounts payable and receivable, planning and analysis, and statutory reporting and consolidation. Delivering rapid performance insights and forecasting to help us stay ahead of the competition. And, in an organisation that doesn’t stand still, the team’s work is a growing challenge of ever-evolving numbers.

Accountabilities

  • Manage and report on aspects of overall DDM cost 
  • Business partnering with Production, Procurement and RDD to actively drive down component cost and reduce scrap cost
  • Work with Procurement to understand capital investment at supplier base and the impact on part cost
  • Manage and report on aspects of overall DDM cost

  • Develop understanding of manufacturing processes and partner with Operations to drive efficiency and lower cost
  • Review and analyse DDM Capex to determine cost-benefit
  • Support DDM Focus Group meeting
  • Value/non-value add review of key processes leading to driving process improvement
  • Provide negotiation support to Procurement and Commercial with data/ analysis/ scenario mapping
  • CM reconciliation for motor consignment
  • Involved in annual budgeting process for scenario planning
  • Ad -hoc analysis and projects

Skills

  • Degree holder in Accounting or Finance with ACCA/CIMA or other equivalent qualification. 
  • At least 5 years of work experience in financial planning and analysis, or commercial finance.
  • Have experience in a manufacturing environment or engineering
  • Excellent analytical ability and Excel skills
  • Have systems experience in SAP 
  • Ability to understand concepts and ideas quickly and present data in meaningful ways
  • Experience in working across functions and cultures and dealing with overseas entities
  • Excellent personal and business presentation skills
  • Assertive and able to influence upwards and peers
  • Good spoken and written English 
  • Commercial acumen
